Tumbleweed story reminded me of this - saw Garbage in concert in the 90s. Venue was outside in Phoenix. Shirley Manson, also Scottish, saw a palm tree. She stopped the show for a second to marvel at how alien it was to her. Was pretty funny. Something so pedestrian to an Arizonan and she was spellbound by it.

It really sucks that she told this story in public. Now others will think this is ok. Accidental introductions of non-native species are forgivable, but doing it on purpose is down right negligent. Guess you know who to blame when Scotland adds another invasive plant to the list.

...jesus...that was actually a spot on impression! (Her voice amazes me, but already i knew from "Selfie" that she could sing amazingly well). Every time i see this woman, she does something that'll make me love her even more. I feel genuinely happy for her, now that Nebula's given her a lot more mainstream exposure, since she's AMAZINGLY talented and definitely deserves all the work she can get.
