There was one occasion where he got word that the defendant had been abusively rude to his reception/court staff either over the phone or when in person, several times, when asking for information. I wouldn't like to opine on whether that conduct had anything to do with his final ruling, but I remember he tore strips off this clown and gave him the the full extent. I remember it also because I'm pretty sure Judge Simpson also has the same feelings when it comes to respecting his staff, and has also thrown the book at someone, coincidentally, if I have that right. But no, I never thought I would ever hear Judge Middleton tell a "lady" to shut up, gratifying and deserved though it certainly was.

More info on the Middleton case. We learned last week that the mom's boyfriend, who she lives with, is physically abusing her and she wants to leave him. She originally was going to just move back in her house and let the daughter and the daughter's boyfriend still stay there, but the daughter's boyfriend refused to let the mom move back to her own home. This is what started the eviction. For those who doubt the mom's story, I don't remember all the testimony, but Middleton believed it, thus his saying that it wasn't fair that she had to start all over again. I could be wrong, but I think the daughter confirmed the abuse. Or at least didn't disagree. So something's aren't exactly what they seem, if you don't have all the information.

That's even worse. Then the little bit she's getting in rent is probably her emergency fund to try to escape an abusive home. And her daughter is fine with her bf dictating her mom should stay in an abusive environment rather than get out. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Towards the very end it was brought up that the daughter was offered another place to live by her father. She refused. No lease. It's a month to month tenancy, daughter should have moved out when requested. The Finance is those who really doesn't want to move that should be a big red flag to the ungrateful, selfish entitled daughter. Mom needs to make out a will, leave 1 penny to this daughter in the event she disappears/dies in the meanwhile.

At the first hearing, the mom said she was in an abusive relationship and wanted to move back to her house that her daughter/defendant and her fiancé were living in. Her daughter and fiancé said the mom can move into her house with them if she didn’t bring her cats that the fiancé is allergic to. The mom refused to leave the cats so daughter and fiancé said she can’t move back.

This gal was in a very unfortunate situation as a result of being WAY to kind and generous, the swine occupier is screwing her over, the Judges hands are tied because of laws geared in favor of shyt people renters, and then Grandma goes ballistic all of a sudden ON LIVE STREAM and the Judge freaked... He was already pissed that he couldn't do anything for this gal and Grandma went off... This is a very good Judge.... I'd like to see the meeting he has with Grandma, because no, sje shouldn't have gone off like that, but this Judge understands and knows she's right and agrees, but he HAS to follow even screwed up laws.... Legally, the schmucker swine was in the clear... Morally? She's got some pretty serious karma coming in her future... I enjoy seeing karma play out...

I feel really bad for the woman in Judge Hamiltons court. It used to bug me to think people like that were “using” the system. But my god, $535 a month from the government? While billionaires pay zero taxes and make money from exploiting workers? And this poor woman who probably had a rough childhood, not great education or access to resources, and clearly doesn’t totally understand technology is being held accountable for all her wrong doing. Because she is somehow more responsible for her crimes than rich white men. So if she gets a few hundred dollars a month to live a mediocre life- never really getting ahead and probably never getting that far at all- so be it. I totally agree with you. I was so disgusted by Mike's comments because he's a lawyer and should know better. People complain about overcrowded jails and prisons yet you have a person like her taking up space that should house a hardened criminal. The courts makes criminals out of the poor and the government gives them the bare minimum to get back but hardly become independent. Interesting that some teenage girls are blamed/ridiculed for having children at a young age, but the grown men who molest them get away with it.

IKR - he can say some shitty things, but he was beyond low for that. The woman is clearly struggling and lost her home so she lives in a trailer on property she owns. Her minor child is shuffling between her home and the grandmother because father is in jail. So she's doing the best she can by trying to work and minor legal matters and turning her into a criminal. Cases like these piss me off because people like her are getting fucked over by the legal system and bogus fees and violent offenders are roaming the streets because they can game the system. I was disgusted by Mike's response - even worse is he's a lawyer. What sort of advocate is he with this attitude.

I taught in a high school special education program for thirty years. Almost every psychologist I met in that time could have benefited from some time on a couch, so that woman majoring in criminal justice makes a little bit of sense to me. I just hope she's not being taken advantage of by one of those Cash-Cow-Colleges that exist for little other reason than to milk the grant & loan systems and put their "students" in debt.

I’ve noticed more and more inmates and defendants on these streams seem to not only be using the “I’m going to college” crap to look better, but even MORE to brag about how much money they’ll be receiving from “my check” tons that say they’ll pay their fines from it, thinking that’s what it’s for…it’ll just end up being another dead end BS non shock once they fail out the first semester, or even if they get a degree but can’t get hired/licensed due to their criminal records…I was gonna mention wow will they be surprised when they get the repayment plan, but have a feeling these are the same types that will pay nothing and allow the interest to accrue….wonder who picks up all of that cost? Oh wait, the taxpayers, this seems to be the new number one scam…criminal justice? Sure, lady that can’t even create a GMAIL account much less write a term paper. I’d love to know the completion rate on these inmates taking out fed loans… “Fasfa is paying for my school” I don’t even know where to start 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I was in my 30's divorced with 5 children at home, going to college for nsg, worked 30 hrs wk. Support what you said. After graduation l worked full time as a nurse plus part time 20-30 hrs each week 1984 - 2007. You can do what your willing to do.
