Karen Inserts Herself Into a Police Investigation - Ends Badly

On April 8, 2023, around 1:30 AM, Officer Austin of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Division of Law Enforcement spotted a grey BMW driving erratically on I295 South, near Jacksonville. The BMW was weaving between lanes and speeding, prompting Officer Austin to follow it onto J. Turner Butler Blvd. The vehicle continued its reckless behavior, swerving into emergency lanes and cutting through traffic.
Eventually, Officer Austin conducted a traffic stop at a Shell gas station on Philips Highway. The driver [REDACTED], appeared agitated, was eating, and had bloodshot eyes. The strong smell of cologne was also noticeable. Based on his observations and [REDACTED] behavior, Officer Austin suspected impairment and initiated a field sobriety test.
[REDACTED] was uncooperative and confrontational during the test, which he was unable to complete successfully. His condition and behavior led to his arrest at 3:06 AM for driving under the influence (DUI) and resisting arrest without violence. He was transported to Duval County Jail, where he continued to display signs of impairment and was uncooperative during the booking process. [REDACTED] also refused to provide a breath sample when requested.

He actually didn't pick up the wrong card. He's a Fish and Wildlife officer and these are the test they are trained to do because they usually deal with people on boats. But they are allowed to make regular traffic stops. And the test he was trying to do are still valid on a ground DUI investigation . I do believe he was nervous because he probably doesn't deal with this type of people and make too many traffic stops.

Yeah, the Officer shouldn't of let him call someone, especially when he's been told about a gang affiliation. That is the exact reason why he shouldn't be allowed to call anyone. It's unusual that this dude decided to start stuffing his face when he's getting pulled over and you say the car reeked of cologne. The Officers should not have let the two of them control the scene as much as they did. This woman was in no way shape or form involved other than to be his little pocket Karen, she should've been questioned and removed immediately. It's a good note about how this Officer screwed up the field sobriety test, because not only did he do that, but the other Officers watched him.. I don't know why it was worth noting the error in the incident report though, this Officer has to be a rookie and should probably be retrained but at the end of the day this guy who was swerving in his car, stuffing his face after being pulled over, possibly masking a scent with cologne, refusing to cooperate with FST's and having his Karen interfere likely was drunk so he should've been arrested.

It sure appeared that there was discomfort between the trooper and the deputies, almost like the deputies didn't really want to help. Finally, thank goodness, the deputies did take action because no one else was except for the two loud mouthed, troublemaking perps.

His life choices caused this chain reaction to happen. They did the testing with him sitting because the cop was informed that he was gang related. This caused multiple cops to show up. They dont know if he has guns, if he's gonna run, or that he may have called other gang members to show up. He did call his girlfriend. He's acting like a complete as#hole.

Majority of Americans have trouble with standardized field sobriety tests due to balance issues. Nobody has issues with seated field sobriety tests.

The cop confessed that he had nothing on the guy, but the fact that the driver wouldn’t do the FSTs won’t sit well with the judge, either. It’s a toss-up, but with a good lawyer it may not even go to trial.
