I've watched almost all the renditions of this scene out there and this one is probably the best expressed. Everyone else seems to be... Aware of what's going on with sad faces, but when you're insane, you've fled from reality to the point you're not aware of what's going on. I love her blank expression.

Ok so this ballerina is really beautiful :) I hadn't heard of her but I love watching ballet and enjoy interpretations of this scene. The music is so amazing and this ballerina has given Giselle innocence, calm, gracefulness and a sense of losing reality. Natalia Osipova did this too but interestingly gave more of a sense of danger at times. Alina Cojocaru has a natural innocence when she performs and her Giselle felt very vulnerable. You just wanted to reach out and hug her 😔 I've only seen a little of Margot Fonteyn in this part but I'm sure she was fantastic :)

I had a friend who was so in love, little did she know the guy was engaged to someone else, and he left my friend and married the other girl because of their ethnic Jewish background, my friend was devastated, I was afraid for her. She did marry another many years later and was very happy

Christine Stark Giselle is an inocent girl from the village, and Hilarion is in love with her bit she loves Albert, who is a prince but she ignores that, Albert was lying to her, and when she finds out he is engaged to another woman, a royal woman, she goes mad and kills herself. Then she emerges from the grave as willy, a mythical character, Willys were girls who died before they got married and also betrayed by their boyfriends, they look for revenge and make men dance until they die, they are lead by Myrtha the queen of willys. Somehow Giselle was too good and asks Myrtha to forgive Albert, she sais no, and makes him dance... in the end, because of the strength of their love, Albert survives until dawn and the willys have to go back to their grave.... Giselle did not got revenge so she wont be willy so she goes back to her grave forever... and I cry every time
