I am from India. I came here on Green card and was hired at the Computer store. I studied and passed my Computer tech.exam and became a computer tech in a very popular chain store in the USA. I had faced such attitude from the customers coming for their computer repairs in person or answering their calls about their computer repairs queries. They would bluntly ask me to let them talk to someone who SPEAKS ENGLISH! IT was really offending but these videos do remind me those uncomfortable moments. And to add a feather on the cap, I was appointed on the job in the Upgrade department, meaning to help customers regarding their questions about upgrading computers' hardware. And being at that job I had studied and cleared my exam. Soon after passing my exam there was a moment our HR head came to our store. I proudly told him that now I am a certified computer technician, and do you know how he greeted me? He asked, oh, so now you will be able turning the screws of the computer unit to open it, right? . What a disgusting attitude to talk to the employee of his company!

I suffered due to many reasons..1. A woman, 2. and from INDIA 3. passed the computer technician exam studying from home along with FT job at the age of 45 or so!! (4) I was denied to be the Customer service lead position and was harassed so much that the UPGRADE department supervisor obliged me by taking me in his department so that I do not have to deal with Customer Service dept.'s discrimination. He was also an american guy but he was very kind and helping nature so he helped with computer hardware details and how to answer the phone calls. I had computer software exposer as when we were in India we were running a software developing company. So it did not take long to get myself prepared for the Computer Technician Certification exam. I really value my UPGRADE Dept. supervisor's help.
