Story 4 seems off to me. Apparently a tree belonging to OP's neighbour was blown over in a storm and crashed into OP's land causing damage. The neighbour located a tree surgeon to remove the tree and that tree surgeon offered to give OP a quotation for the work for OP's insurance company, after which things went downhill. But hold on! OP doesn't need a quote. The problem has got nothing to do with OP's insurance company. The tree that cause the damage belongs to OP's neighbour. It's the neighbour's responsibility to put right any damage to OP's property, using, where appropriate, his own insurance, not OP's insurance. So either there are some very strange laws in the USA or the story is rubbish.
