Love Miss Norma's Sassy Attitude! It's always been so much fun when you get to interact with your cows on film and we get to see their personalities come alive on stage! My Bulldog does the same when I bring out my phone to film him when he is at the Park....I firmly believe our Animals KNOW exactly when it's "Lights...Camera...Action" which usually turns into hilarity! Your work ethic is awesome Karen and not lost on your Fan Base as noted in the comments! Cheers From Across The Pond In COW-lumbus, Ohio MOO 👋

Karen great videos. Small tipp for your topping. Top like a contractor mows. 5 laps of the headland and do you corners square by stopping and turning. Then do you sets/sections losing when turning. You won't have those rips and no misses. Keep it up.

No bother to you Karen, practice makes perfect and it all adds up to excellent viewing. When the bale got to them they didn't give a hoot if it was kicked down the field to them. See the smiley heads on them as they munch it down. The 135 would have struggled a bit with the second bale, even the 390 was looking light on the front. keep up the good work.

Karen a hydraulic top link is a great Job, a wee bit expensive around 200 to 300 but you will wonder how you did without it. Makes lifting a bale way easier as you can tilt the lifter, plus it is quicker for attaching stuff.

Hallo Karen another great video you had a problem lifting the bale of silage if you shorten the toplink a bit it will the bale higher or go for a hydraulic one they are very good

good to see more 390 action. Having 2 tractors should make life easier as you will have less swapping implements
@jimgardner90447 ай бұрын
Hi Karen, I was looking at the 390. My question is, are there multiple hole's for the top link to go in on the "tractor end"? If so, try putting it lower down. It changes the geometry and it should make it easier to pick up the bales. The way it looks now the spikes are cocked up when it's on the ground and point down when it's lifted up. Cheers Jim in NZ.

I got interested in Farming by a strange route my dad was born and bred on a farmer as my Grandfather was a farmer in Berkshire in the days of the Horse and when I got near to retirement took on two ten rods allotment plots but with disability several years on had give up and then the thing that really got me going was a computer game Farming Simulator and my need to know what real farming was about in the modern day with the Funky Farmer and Farmer P on seeing this video which impressed me greatly and now Subscribed to I am sure I have a lot of catching up to do checking out all your previous videos.🧐

Amazing how Teagasc and Farmers Journal have convinced grazing farmers that three leaf grass is the best. Is grass the only thing grown on farms that is fed out snd indeed cut too at such immaturity. How can it be wholesome. The cattle will put their noses into the but anyway but will also get stemmage and seedheads. Farmers point to weightgsin and milk yield but most supplement with cornglakes. There's a bigger picture.
@XtreamSheep7 ай бұрын
I’m sure farmers have been convinced themselves by the results, doesn’t take an expert to figure out that eating grass at the right cover or cutting before it goes to seed is better for dmd, protein and sugars. The scales and milk yield are clear. So whether farming intensive or extensive practicing better grazing management will reduce your need for rations. Grass is a cheap resource we grow in excess in this country. Have a look at farm theory for example who cuts silage at an early stage and has saved himself over 80,000 pounds from his meal bill last year
@michaeloconnor98097 ай бұрын
These rations from calf crunch up and are almost obligatory, are they cut and harvested at the three leaf stage. How can immature grasses be the full and best profile and density of nutrition and natural medications. Where are the minerals and trace elements coming from. Also grains fed to herbivore ruminants is false feed and reduces the ph of the rumen. Fed too much the animal will die from acidosis. How is that best practice when the food becomes a killer. Then ask yourself what is in the meat and milk from these animsls. Why is beef fat white today when it used to be bright yellow and any implications for milk.Farmers are blinded by output and little else to the extremely unnatural reality that most Irish farmers are fed from the supermarkets making the enemy stronger at their own expense.
