Hello Karen, the results of your cattle you had sent off is all down to the amazing work you and your dad have done feeding them. Its sad that there has been so much bad weather that is slowing down your schedule. The young cattle look happy laying down in the field and didnt even come over to say hello. Maybe you could buy a wool head ban for your hair and it could also keep you a bit warmer. Your fertiliser spreading is so good now you are using the GPS to guide you. Regardless of what things are happening around you, there is always a smile on your face. Thanks for the video. Chris from Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺.

For the dial on the spreader you could put a peace of paper are something of that sort on the scew and then twist the dial onto it. The farmer close by has a similar problem and dos that( although he use the tinfoil for a packet of cigarettes instead). Hope it helps

You can buy the plastic feed adjuster for the spreader, when I've been stuck for one a jubilee clip opened out and placed on the pressure end will hold it where you set it. The white stuff on the collar of the spout is just corrosion on the aluminium, a spray of WD40 after washing will prevent that. Great video....wish my land was as dry!

Put a cable tie through the adjuster on the vicon, you can still adjust it without taking the cable tie off but it stops it moving while your sowing. It did the trick on mine anyway

Hi Karen, Great result with the heifer. Well done. I was looking at your spreading map. It might be easier for you if you spread all around the boundary of the field first before you go into the up and down runs. Every time you are coming to the boundary after doing an up or down, knock off the spinner when your back wheel of the tractor drives over the wheel track furthest from the ditch on your boundary run. That will allow you plenty of space to loop around and straighten up before you head back up the field.
@karenmoynihanfarm9 ай бұрын
Others have suggested that before too and I say I'll try it but for some reason when I get to the field then I just don't think I'll be able for it and go back to the over and back. I need to just try it some day

I'd stay with the mid bags for all of the spreading, your spreader doesn't carry a ton and turning those bags off is a nuisance. Extra fert in a mid bag you can just tuck into a couple trash bags to protect. Run a chord or round bungee across the setting knob from two points on the machine and then double-loop around the knob like a Scunci after its hooked at both ends, should at least hold it close.

That's a fair point actually

Great Video. Congrats on the limo meat grades! I'll have to look up what they compare to the system we use in N America. I was struck by the higher grade equating to calving difficulty. I've never heard of such a thing. Did I hear that right? Congrats on the 390! I'm not much of a massey guy as I lean toward valtra or deutz fahr. That said Im wondering what all you might have in mind for the 390. I don't recall seeing that you work a lot of ground. So are you eventually looking to doing your own sileage/baleage/haylage? Which I suspect means more equipment. Maybe clue us in a bit on your thinking about future plans. That said a 390 is a fine machine to join any parades/protests about government policy if what is happening elsewhere in uk/europe comes to your neck of the woods. Hope the weather treats you better soon. People where I'm at are waitin on grass too.
@karenmoynihanfarm9 ай бұрын
Well with the higher grades that's just my Dad's thinking on it really. I don't know if it actually equates at all 😅 I'll cover the plans next time I have the 390 out as well
@EasyEd029 ай бұрын
Thanks! I look forward to hearing your plans. I didn't think you would buy something like that "just because" or to "keep up with the Jones". I've seen farmers with big 400+ hp articulated 4wd tractors for their 320ac that their dad worked with like a case LA. Baffling to me as recreational tillage in March (still winter) with a spike tooth harrow. My suspicion is their wives kick them out as they been in all winter 😅 Take care!
