I never thought I could relate to someone so much. Literally I am the 18 year old version of Karen even though I am not 18 yet. I have been obsessed with puzzles ever scene I was little and I was doing 5,000 piece puzzles by the time I was 7 years old. Karen always makes me smile and laugh in every single one of the videos. You are incredible! My brain literally cannot comprehend the sheer amount of work that actually goes into completing or even tackling this kind of project, it's amazing how you're able to work through the entire process of putting together this kind of puzzle, I mean over 9000 pieces is just mind boggling! I get overwhelmed at my 500 piece puzzle and this is several times more pieces and more difficult. I love seeing the clock off to the side going up alongside the montages it puts more of that work into perspective. If only I could work at montage pace lol

I’m seriously so impressed with how quickly you did those wedges! I was watching the timer going “oh my gosh! She is going to finish these before the 3hr mark!” And then you did!! 🎉 I’m thinking the purple section will take you another 16-20 hours. So let’s say 18, which would bring your time to 52h and add a 40min for good measure. Making my guess of your final time being 52hrs40min I’m here (and in patreon) with you no matter how long it takes though!

One thing I love about puzzles is that even that having a plan is important, when you are puzzling you reach a point when you get to really know the puzzle and get guided by the puzzle to do it in certain ways. Some time ago, I did a puzzle of a Michelangelo painting and thought that starting with the borders of the bodies would be the best approach, I was stuck for like a whole day until I gave up, looked closely at the pieces like asking them to help me in some way, and discovered very very faint "cracks" of the original painting and following those cracks in a couple hours the puzzle was done. Its magical, when you know on top of your head what pieces you have, what pieces you need, where are they in the sorting, is like you reach a connection with the puzzle.

Ahhhh I've been so excited to see this drop! I think your passion for this project has had a knock-on effect and is pushing you to experiment with your directorial creativity! The training montage and the bit where you crawled over the puzzle had me in stitches. I'm seeing you use some really cool dramatic camera angles and techniques i haven't noticed you use before. They were well-deployed and it was really cool to see. I cant wait to see how the finished puzzle turns out. I'm guessing a final time of 59 hrs and 19 mins. My partner and I have the 5000 piece Ravensburger Tower of Babel puzzle on my to do list, and this has been really helpful for thinking through strategies for it. I'll guess 50 hours. Oh, and "dodecagon" was the word you were looking for. A dodecahedron would be a 3D solid with 12 faces (like a 12-sided die).

I built this puzzle twice, about 5 years apart, and the frustrating part was in the outer space areas, the pieces have a ton of false fits. I am sure if I went through and looked at mine, it probably has a ton of them. Kudos to you for doing it as one puzzle, I did it as 2!!!!

I remember doing this puzzle the summer between my senior year of HS and freshman year of college and the absolute slog it was once I got to the space section.
