BASEMENT! I def would not have been able to solve this one. I remember doing a CS: Las Vegas mystery puzzle when i was about 12 and I could barely do that. This one was pretty advanced and clever. Great video as always.

Maybe if you hadn’t indulged in repeating over and over again how bad you are at this kind of puzzle, it would have been easier! If you notice, you basically had a lot of those answers, but your confidence needed a little boost out of the basement.

Hey Karen, these puzzles are usually pretty bad unfortunately. The basement is one of the better ones. Very illogical and some of them even had other/wrong solutions in the envelope than the internet had. I recommend the EXIT escape room games with puzzles (lighthouse and temple)

An idea for puzzle lovers who enjoy working with another person on one puzzle: After completing a puzzle the first time alone, I divide it in half from top to bottom and put the pieces from each half in 2 separate ziploc bags. Then next time I do this puzzle, I can work it enjoying someone's company without having to share the same pieces to complete my "half" of the puzzle!
@Jannyl133 жыл бұрын
Such a good idea! I also sometimes struggle with having a huge puzzle taking up space for days. So I could just divide the pieces to work on different sections without completely taking up the entire table :)

When I was younger my mum, my aunt and me puzzled every Tuesday since my aunt came over every Tuesday as long as I can remember. My aunt was my mother's twin and she was always there when my my mother was away traveling for work. So my aunt was basically my second mother for me. She passed away when I was 10 and me and my mother stopped puzzling all together. Now, 8 years later we picked it up again and now spend every Sunday puzzling together! I just discovered your channel like a few days ago but I am absolutely love it!

i'm glad you did the full walkthrough. it's good to know this won't be my cup of tea. i like escape rooms, and escape room games like the exit games by kosmos and the unlock card games. But this seems like once the puzzle is finished, you really dont know where to begin in regards to the escape part. It's too open ended for my liking. That being said, thanks for being so awesome in your review and struggling for the rest of us ;)

You are a good sport. We had bought one of these Ravensburger Escape Room puzzles and did not enjoy solving the number puzzles. Even with the online clues they did not make sense. We read reviews and others were equally frustrated and disappointed. It was the first puzzle in a long time that we didn’t feel good about passing along to friends and family. Its probably still in storage in the basement.

In the early 80s, I did a puzzle called “Decipher.” It had a $100,000 prize for the first to be able to decipher it. It was a puzzle of numbers, then the numbers had to be deciphered. I called many of the worlds cipher experts [code breakers] to help me solve it. I got the first part of the answer, “Congratulations,” but was unable to complete it before someone else at MIT using computers was able to decipher it first. Though I didn’t win, I learned a lot, which is just another way to win. Oh yeah, I was living in a “basement” apartment at the time…

When I saw which puzzle you were going to review, I stopped the video, ordered the puzzle and did it myself first to see if I could do it. Well... I couldn't, but I still enjoyed it. I solved three of the seven puzzles myself, two of them I needed at least 3 hints. After that, I also was a bit confused about the pieces I got (the image was a little unclear to me) and only after opening the envelope I understood what had happened. All in all, I did like the puzzle (edges were a bit tricky indeed; after finishing the entire puzzle, I was still doubting some of the edge pieces) and I like the concept, but it's hard to know what you're looking for when you don't know what the outcome should be (in an escape room, it's usually "find the code" or "find the key". Here, you don't really know what's supposed to happen). Thanks for this suggestion, I didn't know about escape puzzles, and I think I might try another one, now that I know what might happen. If anyone has done any other escape puzzles, please leave a comment without spoilers and whether you would recommend the puzzle or not.
