Nice job with sticking with it. Those were some good looking fish. Unfortunately where I live, there is a law that states the river bed belongs to the property owner. You can fish the area, so long as no part of you or your boat touches the river/lake bed.

Its a lake or 2 southeast of San Antonio... And it holds REDS. The lake to the left has an amazing camp site and easy water acess.

Hey Bro, I'm a retired law enforcement officer, folks don't own the water. You can fish as long as you are not on private property or on those body of waters that are on private property. However, the body of water that you are fishing is open to the public. It's like saying you can't walk on the sidewalk in front of thier home.
