In the summer of 99 when I was a kid perhaps in 6-7th standard. I remember Captain Sourabh Kalia’s body being taken to his home town through Bilaspur, Himachal. I went ahead in the midst of a sea of people. And I touched the body box carrying Capt. Kalia. I bowed down and touched it with my head. Cried. Kargil war gave us such memories of understanding what a country is. In more than one way. Listening to war time stories of Kargil gives us chills and makes us proud. That such is the mettle and professionalism of the soldiers guarding us. What a great documentary. Emotional kar diya ekdum. Thank you so much. 🙌🏻 Jai Hind. 🇮🇳

What a quality content! The army did the best they could and won for us. Also speaks a lot of true maryada purush " Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee" to not cross the LOC at that time, although we could have gained by crossing the LoC but still. Besides, that term of Atal ji was mired with a lot of challenges, which included the sanctions post the nuclear tests, IC 814 hijacking, Kargil War, Parliament Attack and much more.

The soldiers won us the war and generalship failed their troops, the army and the nation. No senior general was sacked because of this blunder. And India had to pay a huge price of 528 braves and more than 1300 injured. Makes me sad that it’s been 25 years and still I don’t think we have learned the lessons.

With all due respect the General saab at 8.05 says there was no intelligence. Major Manish Bhatnagar and Brigadier Devinder Singh beg to differ. Major Bhatnagar informed the chain of command about bunkers being setup on the top in March of that year. There was a failure on the part of the command to take it seriously and investigate. The Major was made a scapegoat and Court Martialed.

Ajit dhoval sir in his interview in 2006 reaveld that IB and other agencies warned the 15 core commander about pakistani army's intruders. And report also said that a possible threat of small scale war. But 15th core commander didn't take it seriously and didn't pass on this information to 121 brigade 102 brigade and 3rd Div. In LEH. Also the commanding officer of 3rd devision Gen. VS budhwar did not agreed with his subordinates that these are pakistani regulars not jihadis. Gen. Budhwar also prusserise his brigadiers to assault enemy without proper information of enemy. He does not provide fresh troops and necessary equipments to 121 brigade, & also 70 brigade in batalik sector. That is the one of biggest reason that indian army suffered that much casulties.

These interviews like chamcha will only weaken the defence forces. NSA has clearly informed that there was intelligence report which didnt even reach the Army Head. How does that happen? Bhatnagar had sent reports of heavy firing to Budhwar which was ignored.Kalia reported the same and was sent on patrol to die. So as journalists its your job to interview the likes of Bhatnagar. Great to see Devender Singh on the show. How did the Generals go scot free for negligence and went after poor Bhatnagar and Devender Singh?

Bro pakistan took out huge loans after it's formation and bought latest equipments in that time, where as our country which was looted of its jewels, was trying to stand on its own feet, due to bad equipment, and shortage of supplies our soldiers defeated pakistani troops, and no where its written or in movies its stated that those were mujahideens, there was a treat made by PM's of both nations that during winters its dangerous to stay at high altitudes of LOC and as per agreement troops from both countries will return back to base, as Pakistan wants to take over Siachen glacier, they broke the treaty, as you know there was less equipment of communication at that time, the pakistanis were better equipped, at first they thought they lost contact of patrol party but in reality they were dead!! Don't abuse the armed forces and their supreme sacrifices for the country!! Their supreme sacrifices are not in vein we celebrate their efforts through kargil vijay diwas
