Would rather a horror flick from the 70s than watch a modern one. This is a spooky one. Good job Creature Features!

OMG! - this movie was basicly the movie " Poltergeist " with less budget. Spielberg clearly had fun with camera angles and fast cuts, to see what worked and what didn´t. The importance of family is still there, the core of Poltergeist - that made it stick out so much from so many other horror movies, and what made it so much better.

The movie plot revolves around a young couple and their children moving into a rural farm house. Unfortunately, the family is unaware of an evil entity that has claimed ownership of the house and it's contents, including anyone who enters it's domain.

LOVE this and will never forget seeing it for the first time. i love the almost subliminal appearance of red eyes, not just in the window during the commercial but really quick over Sandy Dennis shoulder when she is yelling in the branches. I still get creeping out by the glowing red glop in a jar crying like a baby. I mean WHAT is that supposed to be.

Nobody is remarking on the sculpture of the veiled lady on Vincent's desk there. It reminds me of a similar sculpture that stood near the entrance to the Detroit Institute of Arts. It was amazing how the artist had captured the look of thin cloth over her features. Sadly it had to be removed because people couldn't resist touching it!

Livingston has an outstanding voice. I wonder if he does any voice acting.
@andreabruson5558 Жыл бұрын
Even though this is a raw Spielberg, you can tell his incoming future talent by some very cool camera movement and angles, which made him become the Master we all know. The only cringey moment was the practical effects on the car accident at the beginning but it had to be related to the low budget factor. It's been a fun watch anyway!

I watched a movie as a child that was weird, it was about a family in a house, and it's like the house took them over, and they would set down and put their hands together like praying but be rocking back and forth as this Erie music played, like the house was making them evil. I never saw or heard of this movie again, and I want to say this movie was on TV in the early 80s
