As a former athlete, I am in awe of the natural talent these two young people possess! It is extremely difficult to perform at an exceptionally high level as your body grows from childhood to young adulthood. The moves that you made when you were only 4 feet tall must basically relearned when you grow another foot and are now 5 ft. tall. Sport/dancing is a lot of muscle memory, but when you are constantly still growing your body it means you are constantly readjusting to a “new” body. It takes so much practice, dedication, and a love of your chosen sport to keep you going. And for an athlete to have a partner who is also going through the same thing means that both partners must also have respect and patience with each other. Karina and Artem are making all of this look so easy! They look flawless with each performance. Each of them displays their superiority on the dance floor. They respect each other and BOTH of them shine! So often dance partners have one person who overshadows the other. And usually it’s the women who outshine their male partners even if it’s because of the women’s ability to wear such gorgeous costumes while the men must be dressed (usually) in all black or black pants/white shirt. The women look like glittering, graceful swans with flowing, fluttering, shining, feathery dresses and adorned with jewelry. The men are dressed like the waiter you had at your last very expensive meal at your favorite fancy restaurant. But Karina chooses to wear darker colors that compliment Artem’s costumes. But Karina truly has the talent to downplay her costumes. Her flawless and exceptionally gifted dancing ability shines through and she would be a star even if she and Artem were both dressed identically! Both of these young people are strong, amazing dancers and together I can see them going as far as they want in the dancing world! Their parents/guardians and coaches must be so proud of them and all of the adults in their lives should be commended for the way they have trained these two while also allowing them to be children and to do the things outside of dance that all children their age are typically doing. That is not easy. But you can see that Karina and Artem are being raised that way because they act their ages when they are not dancing. They both seem at ease, happy, and interact very well with others their own age. And it can’t be easy for them to interact with other dancers because Karina and Artem are so talented that they must face some people who are jealous of them. They already handle that like professionals! I look forward to seeing Karina and Artem navigate through the dance world and hope for their continued success! you may have heard by now that Artem and Karina have new dance partners... Artem's new dance partner is Eve, Karina's new dance partner is Zheka, and I think I have those names right... not a romantic break up as some weird adults on here have suggested :-/ I was told it was the coach's decision... both Artem and Karina are 11 years old... by pairing them with older dance partners, they can now compete in the next older age bracket :)

Fabulous.. there is not a better couple out there. Artem is the male version of Karina. To pair anyone else makes no sense. I don’t know who makes these decisions.. is it the dancers? As children with amazing opportunities.. they should keep anything personal aside. To be the best takes a lot of sacrifice which clearly is the case for this young dance team. Artem & Karina.. a work of art.. pure perfection. Karina is a beautiful young lady.. keep in mind a great dancer & someone with equal striking looks will complement the female who is always the focal point in a couples dance.
