I have to mention that I love the quote he used: "Hire for Fit and Train for Skills"...I used this method all the time I am hiring for my Team. Oh Yeah, personality and attitude is very important in life to be successful! Character traits are not something you can teach, so when you need candidates with certain soft skills, your best bet is to hire based in personality and then teach the hard skills.

This is the #1 most important school of thought I have learned from this episode. "Hire for Fit and Train for Skills".

The amount of times this guy talks about how "lucky" or "fortunate" he has been in his career, when his success is almost exclusively down to his own relentless hard work and creativity, is why he is fantastic to listen to. Someone so accomplished yet so modest is very rare to come by. Loved this interview.

I am so hungry for the nuggets of wisdom which will follow in part 2 (which I will watch now). I love the transparency. This type of honesty is not necessarily taught in college / university / school and this is where sharing these type of hard lessons learnt brings the depth in the conversation of building and growing a company. My favorite part of the interview was where he addressed the type of people he hires. Not everyone can be the best in every aspect of business. It is about the diversity of the team and combining those strong aspects of the various individuals that creates such an amazing team. I also loved the quote where he said "hire for fit and train for skill". AMAZING.

Excellent interview! Two things he said stuck... "there is a big distinction between having to work with someone and getting to work with someone". I also liked "We hire for fit and train for skill" so true.

Karin I love your creativity and guts to try new things - so I tell you this to help not as a hater. But as a former digital producer in many large creative agencies... I suggest/please get a writer to work on your scripts, a producer who can advise on lighting and production quality improvements.... I wish you much success! You’re so talented...

Hey karin:) I want to know:- Is interior design worth it? Because i want to become very soon interior designer
@ShiaMajer3 жыл бұрын
I am not Karin but my opinion is: I think it all depends on how you are gonna use your skills, interior design is a career path, and all career paths have their ups and downs, there's really no guaranteed career or business, the world is changing so fast and it requires us to keep on learning and pushing forward. Instead of wondering if interior design is worth it, why not ask yourself 1 Do I really like interior design? 2 How good am I in the design industry? 3 Am I able to push through difficult challenges in my career?
