There's a huge reason why she was chosen by Celine Dion to sing at her wedding. That voice is so gorgeous and amazing. And her voice has so much POWER when ignited by the genius of Steinman's music! If she did a full-Steinman album, it would BLOW EVERYONE AWAY. I dream that I can see and hear her live someday. I'll probably melt on the spot with joy.

Credit where it's due, there aren't many who can sing one of Jim's songs like it was meant to be, live on stage. So good !

this is how to sing a Steinmann song. sorry meat fans but apart from Bat 1 he never delivered for me. Pandora's box got it, such a great shame that album wast successful. everyone I played it to at the time fell in love with it. had it been released by meat (as most of it has been since as inferior covers) it would no doubt have done really well. each to their own I guess.

Yeah, Meat Loaf can't sing at all (he's actually tone deaf). Bat Out of Hell and I'd Do Anything for Love are the two only Steinman songs he's done well, and even those two I'm sure could be sung better by real singers. As for Karine Hannah, she's a fantastic singer (unlike Tyce Green), however, Steinman's two best singers are Rory Dodd and Holly Sherwood. Elaine Caswell and Kyle Gordon are also two fantastic Steinman singers. Jim Steinman is a mystery in that he's wasted his best songs and most of them too, on Meat Loaf and Bonnie Tyler (while at the same time working with Rory Dodd and Holly Sherwood. He even started a band with Rory and Holly: Fire Inc., but only released two songs with that band, and Rory didn't get two sing any solo in Fire Inc. (he was only used for background vocals), and Holly only got to sing solo/lead vocals on Tonight Is What It Means to Be Young, which she did outstanding and fantastic. As can be seen in this clip, Karine Hannah sings the first verse of Tonight Is What It Means to Young, and she does it really well, however I still prefer Holly's version. And yes, the Pandora's Box album is a masterpiece, but why is it a masterpiece? Because it's Steinman + Holly Sherwood, Rory Dodd, Elaine Caswell and a few other great singers. None of that Meat Loaf and Bonnie Tyler nonsense. To be fair against Bonnie, her voice was perfect in Total Eclipse of the Heart and also The Best (later covered in a much inferior but more successful version by Tina Turner), and she was quite okay in most of Steinman's songs and also the songs she sang that were written by Desmond Child and Diane Warren. But Bonnie Tyler is far from the best singer, and the songs she's released over the years (especially during the 80s) were far better than her voice. Steinman should have worked with Pat Benatar and Robin Beck; those two are also great singers.

It would have been really interesting to hear Pat Benatar sing a Steinman song. Though, I disagree on Meat Loaf. I loved his singing. Liking both his Steinman songs and non-Steinman songs (like Martha and Sailor to a Siren).

Robin Beck, in her early days, also could have been interesting.

Oh, and Tonight is What it Means to be Young is probably my favorite Steinman song. Was Holly ever in a single Pandora's Box music video? I remember they used a model to lip sync to her singing in one of the Pandora's Box music videos.

@@EliasAlucard I would add Rob Evan as another great vocalist who has sung Steinman's songs. He was on the Batman musical demos. He was one of the main singers of The Dream Engine. He was also a Broadway singer and one of the singers for Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
