I did a research project & presentation in grad school on the French photographer, George Dambier who used Dovima, Parker, Leigh and other models for his shoots. He was known to take the model outside in the urban environment, countryside and exotic, foreign lands. His work was on par with Avedon, or better. I like your images you showed since I haven't seen many of them. I will view your Leigh & Parker videos. Google Dambier to see his photos. One of his famous French model was Capucine, who had a gorgeous bone structure. She became an actress in Hollywood (Pink Panther), but sadly committed suicide.

In my high school there was a young home economics teacher who was quite glamorous. Beautiful medium length auburn hair, pale skin, thin and graceful. She was always dressed in well tailored dresses with perfect accessories. Her makeup was always just right. Very classy upper middle classic 1950’s look. I always wondered to myself why she wasn’t a model as she was just a beautiful if not more so than many of the popular models in the late 70’s, 80’s. Then I wondered what inspired her sense of fashion and beauty. Now I know. Aside from the hair color, she and Dovima could have been twins. Thanks for a great video.

I’ve been a model since I was a teenager. I’m now an older model and things have changed because now there are older models that are successful. My issue is I don’t look my age so they cast me for 20yrs younger than what I am and that leads to more competition and less work. So I maintain a regular job to supplement my income and keep insurance. Without my smart thinking I would be working misc jobs too. People don’t realize most models and actresses do not make more than 55 thousand a year they have no insurance and nothing to fall back on. You end up sick you don’t work you can’t pay bills.the key to longevity in the industry is to not be a one trick pony. As your age you have to explore other avenues such as voiceover and behind the scenes work. Even acting puts age one women and will limit you. I plan on being in the biz as long as im healthy and alive!❤

She was just turning into an actress in front of the photographers, playing with her feminity & masculinity like no one did before her into the modeling/fashion world. But Gia,her, is from of another generation, the late 70's-early 80's with also a tragic end. Angelina Jolie portrayed her in a film tv and did a fantastic job winning a Golden globes for her performance. Have you seen this film ? A must-watch ! Very moving and hard to forget.
