Just started playing Val Guardian Only with friends after 2 year break. We all got placed in iron 2. Am in Bronze 3 now after killing 477 players with a HS% of 45.9% (top 0.2%) and damage/round of 209.9 (Top 0.9%).

the only thing that actually influences HS% (for me) was crosshair placement. After I worked on it for a while my peak was about 33-35 HSR, and I'm a silver peak...

I have 32.1 % HS , and I'm hard stuck plat. For a year of playing my peak was plat 3 , where I did play with diamond lobbies. I do even more onetaps now(I have a little compilation on my channel), but still loose the games.. I do think that for me , just me as a player this makes me a better shooter and player in the game , but to win NOW you need more the team-which is a big problem in the valorant .

when you see- ahem my answer is no you do not need a high headshot percentage it doesnt rly matter. back in my prime when i was grinding val i never had a high headshot percentage. was often the lowest % in the lobby on valorant tracker. i hit immortal playing raze sova and omen and it had nothing to do with my aim (granted those first 2 champs were really op at the time) a brain can compensate for bad aim (which is still bad to this day) upon checking my tracker history i have consistently had around 20% acc from the start when i was gold to my peak rank to being a washed up bum in diamond, i still keep around 20%

Maybe it does? Focusing on hitting heads and improving my fights skyrocketed me from gold to diamond. Could also be that I got a mousepad that’s good, as opposed to my tiny ass one from before

ironically, switching from my focus to only hitting heads to spraying at correct times is what brought me from silver to ascendant. I was a headshot demon with 40% headshot and 200 ADR, but after i choke my first shot id die every time. I'm now at like 26%.

right now im top 1.1% hs rate with 38.0% and im gold 3 and my last game i had 31 kills and still lost so it doesnt matter unless u have good game sense and know how to play cuz tbh i dont play ranked that much so obviously my ranked game sense is not good, meaning it gives u an advantage but if u dont know how to fully lock in and play for the win instead of kills ur gunna lose

my aim is really good, but my gamesense is hella lacking and it gets me killed a lot. i've thrown so many games just by not understanding what was going on. i feel like a lot of low rank players focus too much on frags and aim rather than actually playing the game as it's meant to be played. it's all balance and that's why the headshot rate goes up as well imo. it's also why if your gamesense is pretty good and you focus on aim that you may rank up. there's top tier players whose headshot *aim isn't as good as you'd expect because they're really good at mind games and positioning.

Yeah gamesense is hard to have in low elo since most of your teammates are running around cluelessesly.. but however watching pro players in VCT can help improve your gamesense or just vod reviewing what u do wrong in previous games

that means you need to work on aiming faster, essentially your aim is good assuming decent amount of kills but just need to push yourself to aim faster while still hitting the head, and as you get better you will still "take your time" to hit the head but you will be so fast that to worse players it will seem like you are aiming really fast but in reality you are taking your time but it looks fast because of practice.
