the fragrance i was trying to remember is Roma Uomo by Laura Biagiotti house, i think these two have similarities with the orange note.

Thank you, Joy Amin, for this review. Last week I paid $15 for a 15 ml bottle of Lagerfeld, Classic at a perfume shop. My signature scent is Lagerfeld, Photo. (I am 52 years old.) The shop told me that Lagerfeld, Photo is discontinued. The bottle that I have from 15 years ago is the same shape as your bottle.

My all time favorite back in the day. This and Azzaro pour homme were my two standards throughout the 80's. So unique I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this. Not as strong as it used to be but still beautiful.

I wore the original Lagerfeld back in the early 1980s. You are right that it is very masculine but also appeals to women. The vintage was a rich, leather chypre with a lush vanilla note, but fragrances then were well blended until you couldn’t pick the notes apart. When I wore it, it always got compliments, but it wasn’t so common that people recognized it, so even then it had an air of mystery and sophistication, but it still wore well on young skin. I’d consider it a college fragrance. I was 18 when I wore it, so it makes me smile to hear it isn’t for young guys. But I will say that even at 18 I was drawn to mature fragrances. I was always ready to be a man ;) I understand if some guys wish to be boys forever. Being an adult is hard lol.

Just re-bought this for probably the 3rd time. My dad wore this when I was growing up. This and Aramis, which I also just re-bought. Love them both. True classics. Wore this in college (during the 90’s) and would get compliments even wearing it as a young man. Thanks for reviewing.

If the same composition then this scent is a very different and good one. I in late 80s used it. I was a child then and my father used it. He had placed the bottle in a small box to hide it from me. But I was always able to find it and spray it. A unique orange and spice blend

These reviews are deceiving, this newer classic version of Lagerfeld is nothing like the old vintage version of Lagerfeld. This version is cheaper today, than the much nicer vintage version was 30 years ago. The original was also not as orange, it was more of an amber.

R Berg, I couldn't agree more. I started wearing this in 1985 when I was 18yo. My girlfriend used to steal a dab from time to time. From memory it wasn't tagged 'classic' in those days and was a different colour. It was also considerably more expensive than it is today. I used to wear the After Shave Balm daily. It wasn't as impactful up front as the after shave or EDT/colognes but had significant longevity (days under the right conditions.) I truly lament the disappearance of the original, though I have persisted with the 'new', cheap version. I also note there is considerable inconsistency in the scent these days from bottle to bottle. Now I'm 50yo the original would be even more suitable than it was back then.

Not the same it used to be! Due to over reformulations! In the vintage version the juice was choco color not orange! And the whole scent was deeper & more natural. The vintage version was a masterpiece! I don't like the new version.
