I don’t know what came before the video started, but never letting them play more than about . 5 bars at a time is destructive

I believe all of the musicians play their piece for everyone to hear. Unfortunately it seems that all of this content was edited solely for Leister's critiques. It was a shame as we cannot hear the differences in their play. He worked quite heavily with the first musician and worked up quite a sweat. He had such trouble with her play that he even mentioned she wore the wrong footwear! I am thinking that he wanted to tell her to go home and practice. To appear at a masterclass with the incorrect adaptation of music is beyond unacceptable and falls at the feet of her conductor or teacher.

I have a clarinetist friend who, I believe, plays this more expressively than this Master.

“Don’t play. Do you understand English? Don’t play hard when you play forté. Look, the sound is coming from your body, not from… don’t play like this." *mocking hand movements* This [your piano] is not a typewriter. It is your body. The sound coming from your body.” *mumbles* Not the best start to a masterclass I've ever seen...

She's a very good player, but does she have to show her excellent legs? Perhaps on stage, but for a class?
@bcleuton16 жыл бұрын
if it was a man showing his legs, it would have problem?
@trevorsparks85305 жыл бұрын
@@bcleuton1 well, from a musical standpoint, yes. Its not proper attire, has nothing to do with her being a woman. Just not appropriate attire is all.
@wayraquinchiguango63793 жыл бұрын
@@trevorsparks8530 So you have the authority to dictate what she wears and how she presents? Questionable.
@trevorsparks85303 жыл бұрын
@@wayraquinchiguango6379 lol, I'm not dictating anything. I didn't say that she isn't allowed to wear it, I simply said it isn't appropriate to wear a dress that short on stage. At least wear some black tights or something.
@superkalifragilistisch65113 жыл бұрын
@@trevorsparks8530 Probably it's hot and while playing clarinet you sweating even more, so where ist the problem (also it is not really short, it's just normal everyday clothes why she shouldn't wear it in class)
