Ricky knew that winding Karl up = entertainment, but all the fans love to see Karl actually smiling/laughing/happy. Imagine a wildlife programme where Karl and another presenter go and explore and find cool animals. Karl actually said in one of the radio episodes that he would like to do something like that.

The thing I love about Ricky Gervais is that he saw the brilliance in Karl. If it wasn’t for Ricky it’s likely that Karl wouldn’t have had such a successful career that brought a smile to millions.

Yep theres plenty of talent working on the radio stations back 20 years ago when he was discovered by ricky and steve. Steve used to work with a fella called rufus on his own radio show who was equally as funny in a different way, but just never got the same opportunity

Always showing genuine emotions and that’s why he’s one of my life idols. He’s on telly openly sharing with presenters how worried he is about the work he’s done. This by itself is so selfless, honest and a bit fragile... just so Karl.

yeowart yeah I get the feeling that the main issue is Ricky, in that I think he’s fallen out with Steve and Karl. Steve and Karl probably don’t have any personal issues because i don’t think they were that close in the first place.

@@Paradiselost316 Ricky was a bully, to be honest. It was often very funny, and I would probably have put up with it too if I was getting work from it. But I can definitely understand that once he got offered the chance to do a TV show without Ricky, he would take that opportunity because it would be less stressful. As for Ricky and Steve, I think they probably prefer not having to compromise with another person. Ricky likes to have his own way. And he was probably difficult for Steve to work with at times. I'm speculating, though.
