Karl's Kaddis, Holsinger's Fly Shop, Episode 509

This weeks video is an Americanized version of a pattern a South African friend of mine Karl Krull showed me. Karl is a great fly fisherman and also an awesome PH (Professional Hunter, hunting guide in SA). He euro nymphs for their native yellowish and also the introduced trout in his area and showed me a few of the flies he ties for them. One of the patterns really caught my eye and I figured I had to try it. Give this pattern a try I think you're going to like it. Don't be afraid to leave out the pearl body material and use different colored threads under the rib and also try different rib colors. Most importantly keep this nymph thin and natural looking. Be a minimalist and go sparse on the tail, dubbing and body thickness.

Awesome looking pattern but. Kinda reminds me a little bit of jc electric caddis with gti caddis mixed in if I’m being honest. Either way I know for a fact that sucker would work great anywhere.
