G’morning Shawn. Haven’t seen you in a while, been busy with a deck rebuild. Although I’m not trout fishing until autumn, I still like to learn more patterns. This one looks really nice and I like the dubbed CDC loop technique. One thing though, I got really sick on Jack Daniels when I was a kid and still can’t even smell it to this day! Hopefully this fly will finally get me past that hangover! Stay cool.

You got that right. I try to turn any home repair project into a ‘renovation diet’. Just immerse yourself into the work everyday so completely that you don’t feel hungry, you forget to eat and the result is a weight loss program that actually works. The drawback is that you must keep doing projects so the weight stays off! Or call it a ‘honey - do’ diet. C u soon.

Yup, this is a great fly and can be changed-up in color as you pointed out. Cory is a great guy who will share knowledge without hesitation- got me off on the right foot and I'm still learning. If you haven't seen his web site, check it out; better yet subscribe. You will ultimately be a better Euro-nympher for it, guaranteed.

Hi, I like the way you tie and how you explain your methods, solid tuition. Where I disagree with you is some of the items you recommended, for example the Solarez Bone Dry glue, good glue but, at just under $50 per ounce is too high for my pocket. Sure good stuff can be expensive, but then again I can loose a lot of flies chasing wild trout in my home territory of New Zealand. I started tying my flies when the price went up to 35c each in the local tackle shop. Cheers mate Harera

@@pierevojzola9737 thanks for the comment. I try to keep it simple. As for the bone dry we get it here in the states for around $20 for 0.5 ounces. That goes a long way on small flies like this. I’m a commercial tier and time is money to me. You could go cheaper with something like nail polish for example but that would take me more time waiting for it to dry, tying in stages, having to switch flies in and out of the vise…. The quicker I can tie a fly, the more I can tie, more I can tie the more I can make. I can get a ton of flies out of that half oz bottle so the price per fly would be pennies. It’s well worth the cost for me being a commercial tier. Thanks for your comment and watching my channel.

@@HolsingersFlyShopHi, I know that from the commercial fly tying view you are spot on! I just go to the $2 shop ( equivalent to the US 50c shop) and purchase bottles of nail polish etc for US 50c each, not as good, but I make my flies to catch my fish and when I can loose a dozen flies a day I feel happy that they cost me so little. Actually when I was young I had an uncle that lived in Portage and had a boat he docked at the Manistee. So I fished the lake there on the boat when I was younger. A few years ago I did make a trip up through Michigan and fly fished the Pere Marquette where I caught my PB king then I went up into the U.P. and caught my first pink salmon. You are correct. It also gives you a cleaner straighter line coming out of the egg opposed to the knot. The way you said is the way the ve been doing it for years. This was one of my first videos almost ten years ago now. I was learning as I went with my video production and often missed simple steps like that in the video because of being nervous in front of the camera. That is for adding the tip.
