An instant classic... there is no one, and I mean no one, who performs a ballad like Karla Bonoff. Voice, lyrics, superb backing musicians and a lush arrangement are woven together here seamlessly and grandly. Night Full of Rain is a wonderfully radiant breath of time, an addition to her songbook that again displays the gifts of a splendid artist, one of the finest of her or any time.

They don't deserve her as the Rock and Roll Hall of fame did not deserve Ms. Bonhoff's friend and song interpreter, Linda Ronstadt.

Karla, I don’t know how you do it, but every single time I listen to you, be it new or some version of a song from the past, I can feel it in my heart and down my spine. Once again, you have done an incomparable job of interpreting a ballad. Is it even possible that your voice sounds sweeter, more full, more rich than ever? Please don’t ever consider retiring your creative pursuits. You were born with a gift that just gets better and better. This universe continues to need a beautiful soul like you....and so do I. Please allow me to opine on what might be considered a shallow observation. I absolutely love that you are wearing a jean jacket over what appears to be a tee shirt. Could it be that you also have on jeans and boots? There is a photo of you, included on one of your cds, wearing a tee shirt and jeans, sitting with your back against a wall and your arms around your knees, your head is bent and your hair is hanging down.... I think you are wearing boots. It is my favorite photo of you. In it, you look entirely unaware of anyone else being present. To me, it feels like raw Karla Bonoff, unaware, unadorned, uncovered and untamed. This video clip of you evokes the same feeling. Thanks for this beautiful piece of you. Stay well....hugs to Benny. ❣️❣️❣️👏👏👏

This is amazing. Karla Bonoff is my favorite. Period. Those of us who know and love her are in on one of the best kept secrets in music. I wish more people knew, loved, and appreciated her. But I'm also glad she is who she is and does what she does exactly the way she does it.

I've been a long time fan of Karla ever since I bought her first album in 1977, and lo and behold, I find this video, and it's so hauntingly beautiful with a great song that could easily be covered by Linda Ronstadt, with it's soulful country roots sound and melancholy. I'd love to hear a new album of all new material in the same vein. Hearing this makes me long for the good old days of the singer songwriter era of music that made music so exciting and so filled with emotion.

Stunning NIGHT FULL OF RAIN..Karla Bonoff has just matured into such a gorgeous vocalists, the arrangements highlight this atmospheric soaked gem of a song. Kenny would be so proud of this newly recorded collaboration he co-wrote, years back...Kenny is so missed.. been waiting so long for new music over the year with the closure of music venues, an excellent new song to lift away this veil of heartbreak and loss, thanks Karla for your generous talents, sounding better than ever, let's hope this just the beginning of a new cycle of classic songs...

Lovely... I had the pleasure of chatting with Kenny at a show you did in WInslow, Ariz. (yes, the standing on a corner Winslow) and I think he was pleased I remembered he was in the Stone Poneys. I was on the road and saw a flyer in my hotel elevator and came over the same day, synchronicity.

Was just watching one of those "Reaction videos" young people make that attract all of us 60-70 somethings. The young man kept asking, "Who is that guy?" Of course, someone knew it was Kenny. That you still have your creative juices flowing is just a gift too precious for words. Fortunately, you always have the words.

Here's one of my favorite Kenny Edwards songs kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpCvhKOdZ6mciac I initially found it on his Myspace page and it was taken down after he died and I was quite disappointed because I couldn't find it. 2 years later I found a version of it that he did live at a coffee house so I reproduced it without all the background noise. Karla is great and so is Bryndle. Their unreleased album from 1970 is a treasure.

I love Bryndle and also all of Andrew Gold's unreleased music that has been coming out in the past few years.
@scottalford52993 жыл бұрын
@@59skupe oh I wasn't aware more music was being released. What do you recommend? I had the pleasure of corresponding with him before he passed away. The exchange was very funny. Some months later, I was driving with my mother in Florida and Lonely Boy came on the radio. I had been thinking about him. It turns out, her had just died. Such a loss. Savanah is my favorite song of his.
