Any chance you can make a song for Katherine of Aragon, her accomplishments as well as her beauty (the Real KOA had red-gold hair that still shone when Henry kicked her out of Court and blue eyes that captivated many a man. Thomas Tallis said there were no finer eyes since the Madonna in 1547, long after she died) are almost always eclipsed by Anne Boleyn. Katherine was the first female ambassador in European history, during this time she prevented a war but no one remembers that. She was also the last English Queen to actually ride out into battle at Flodden Field (Elizabeth went to the battle camp but didn't fight, instead she addressed the men to fight for her. Katherine fought despite her pregnancy) when serving as regent whilst Henry VIII fought in France. She was also responsible for Henry showing mercy to the London rioters of 1517, and was actually much kinder to Anne than movies like 'The Other Boleyn Girl' would have us believe. Even in her worst moments she never called her rival 'Whore', it was the Imperial Ambassador Eustace Chapuys who gave lady Anne the title of 'Concubine'. Plus her last letter to Henry is a tear jerkingly beautiful thing to read, I always cry when reading her last sentence: 'And lastly now I make this, that my eyes desire you above all things.' Truly she was as Erasmus Der Rotterdam calls her in his 1525 letter to Sir Thomas More 'The undisputable Queen of Hearts' but most people remember as the woman Anne replaced, she was far more than just a discarded trinket. There's a reason why her reign was the golden time of henry's rule.

I recently read about her and was surprised to find so many impressive details on the queen. Turns out she was beautiful, intelligent and determined. She's suffered just as much or perhaps more than Henry's other wives but even now, I'll admit it's hard to be too interested in her. If Anne had lived, people would easily show interest in Katherine and support her. But because Anne was executed, seems like the underdog, and was Elizabeth's mother, her story is more prominent. I've seen entire websites, poems, thousands of books, documentaries, films dedicated to the Boleyn family history. You're right about Katherine being eclipsed by Anne. It's actually sad to have such a powerful queen be almost erased from history so easily

Anne Boleyn is my favorite English queen (I actually got to see her grave two years ago which was so awesome for me). I also have a replica of her famous 'B' necklace and watch the episode of her execution on The Tudors every year on the anniversary of her death. So when you came out with a whole album about her I loved it! Now one about Elizabeth to couple it is amazing. Thank you

I don't know what happened to Anne's B pendant, but there's a locket ring of Elizabeth's that contains a portrait of her and either Anne or Catherine Parr (probably Anne). Certainly Elizabeth valued Anne's memory as much as she could: Mary Boleyn's descendants got good places at court and Elizabeth's household linen had Anne's falcons embroidered (I really recommend Tracy Borman's Private Lives of the Tudors where she talks about this). So your song is still historically accurate! :)

But he was a great King and seen as so by the people of the day. If you put aside his disastrous 6 marriages, he was a very strong, intelligent, modern leader. He reinvented England from a medieval country to a modern state. He fathered the Royal Navy which essentially Elizabeth needed to defeat the Spanish Armada. I mean, yeah, he was a grade A, ruthless fuck bag with serious issues but you can’t say he wasn’t an impressive King.
