Advertising a book, talks about youtube videos then gives us a review of cloud atlas. This man is a genius.

True but in Karl's case he is effortlessly hilarious, I think comedic genius is fairly apt.

The one thing I don't understand is how Karl is such a good writer. I'm not saying he shouldn't be, but here he says he writes how he speaks, and he does but he also writes very well so that everything flows and the emphasis is on the right bits. It's seriously a talent I think has gone amiss with him, and it be quite interesting if he could release a series of short stories or something. Nothing too heavy, nothing too poetic, but just some short novellas of his little film ideas would do.

I actually agree with Karl about making things complicated; a good story shouldn't be difficult to understand, a good story should be simple and easy to follow with a clear subtext (a good example would be Ben Stiller's Secret Life of Walter Mitty; absolutely stunning film with a superb story)
