PERFECT! Thanks for posting. My saw was "out" during a move. Your video was the perfect repair.

The only person to address this issue properly on the internet so far. I scratched my head for a while before until I realized what was happening

I have adjusted the rails on mine but still the black won't track into the groove. Any ideas?

You don't need to pry at it like this. Take the Hitachi plastic cover off the sliding rails. Loosen up the 4 inset Allen screws on the end caps of the sliding rails and then have a friend 'twist' the saw head into position (it'll move pretty freely after the Allen screws are loose). Then retighten Allen screws. Bam. Saw is aligned.

Thanks so much for the video!!! Mine is exactly like this and I was absolutely stumped as to how to get it corrected.

I have this same problem, same saw, except under the name Metabo (formerly Hitachi) and its not as bad as yours. I am thinking to take it apart, clean and lube, reassemble and then adjust. Thanks for letting me know that the facility was not able to assist. I was about to ship it. I contacted Metabo and there are no service areas close to me or in 50 miles.

hello and thanks for the great video. I have one of these and my coworker dropped it and not the 45* miter isn't true. do you know how to adjust that? thank you!

This was very helpful. I didn't want to risk marring the slides so instead of the pry method I used a pipe wrench on the end cap (put a rag over the cap) and carefully levered the bars while another person tightened the set screws. I still have the problem of rough riding on the rails and think the bearings might be going bad. Does anyone know if the bearings can be replaced in the front and rear housing?

informative video.....I bought 2 bearing sleeves for my C12RSH and just ended up replacing the rear sleeve. Very difficult removing sleeve and installing new one. Had to destroy the old one to remove it with an air chisel. Can't use heat to install new one as the inside of bearing sleeve is a soft plastic/vinyl. I noted your slide was really good......what if anything do you use on your rails?

Did you dropped the saw for it to go so bad like that? I couldn't believe she would on it's own twist the bars

LiPe VoLcOm I bought it used. It had broken plastic as well. I assume previous owner dropped it.

Hey Karl, how did you ensure you aligned it perfectly for the full length of travel? I can get mine so it look's like it's almost 95% of the way there, but not perfect when using a square to check accuracy.

You might have a good vid if you would not mumble and be a little more specific. Thanks

If your saw is riding out to the right, take the junk back. why keep giving these manufacturers free pass.

WV591 I bought the saw used. Last owner was pretty hard on it, it appears.
