Loved the video. More of this please. My two cents: - Instead of having a 7-8 hour long ride, you could have divided it into two parts, just camped in and enjoyed the raw beauty of Deosai National Park. (Of course you need an extra day) - Waterproof long tour bike boots are a must. - Always keep some extra chocolates, dry fruit, candy in case your sugar goes down with all the physically intensive riding. - Full body biking gear is a must. Your bike was lighter but a slightly bigger bike and it could easily trip over.

@@KarlRockJiji brother. I think a mix of uncertain weather and that we were already flagged has having spent time with a journalist that was on the government "bad guy" list. He was hit by an assassination attempt two weeks after we left the country. He now lives in exile in France. We had problems in the south a couple weeks before too. Receiving calls from the secret services and all and getting unannounced armed escort service at random stops in our travel. We even had to flee the armed forces of the Sindh region. It was quite an adventure.

suggestion in the comfort department,,,visit a pak car repair district, find a guy who deals in compressed gases for a couple pressurized cylinders, carry 3 of them, have the guy mix ten or 15 % oxygen the rest mosly nitrogen and carbon dioxide,,, have the mechanic attatch a cylinder to the moto intake,,someway to avoid metal alterations to the moto,,a valve on the cylinders to control gas flow, tubes attatching to a mask or 2 when they get dirty,a squirt bottle of water to wash them out, bring spare tubing along,a small can of compressed airr to blow dust out of hoses and connectors

Epic journeys lately Karl! Just my two cents, but a lightweight packable rain shell like an Arcteryx squamish hoody or something would take up 5% of the space as that massive rain poncho. Also, a small drybag to keep your gear strapped to the bike would keep everything dry. Just a hot tip for ya bud. Thanks for sharing your adventures bro.

Waterproof footwear: Since strong plastic shopping bags are hard to come by these days, I use the biggest ziplock bags you can buy in a supermarket (if not available in India then send from NZ) for (amongst packing stuff waterproof) putting between socks and boots (just slip over socks and put boots on). That way your boots might get wet but not your feet and they will stay warm. For a slightly more comfy ride you can lower the pressure of your tires from 30psi to 25psi (max 20psi otherwise you can easily get pinchflats). The problem is finding an airpump when getting back on better roads. In adventure motorcycling circles we carry a small compact battery powered airpump for that purpose (see New Zealander Hard Enduro champion Chris Birches videos). Would be good (and a business opportunity) to be able to rent a more suitable bike in Pakistan for those roads. Have fun.

Perhaps you could adjust the carburettor a little before doing a high altitude ride. Should help the air fuel mixture and run better. First there is the idle air/fuel mixture screw. And then the throttle cable and be unscrewed at the top, and the needle moved down a couple of notches. It should only take a few minutes at one of the bike shops if the carburettor is accessible enough. For fuel injected bikes though I don’t know.
