I've been to this place, and I swam in the lake the cold water literally made my skin flaky but deosai remained my No1 favourite place for more than 13 years until I visited Baha lake in Ghizer district, that place is otherworldly that place is a heaven, the lake has the bluest water and laden with trout fish, I camped there for a week, spotted a lynx twice and the best part is it's not a touristy place in my one week I spent there I only saw a german couple who came and left before sunset and a shepherd with his flock

Marmots are one of my favorite animals. Sometimes they play dead but they suck at it so its just cute instead 😂 I call them mountain beavers but here in the U.S they are also called whistle pigs.

I'm from Pakistan and travelled to Deosai in Sep, 2020 and God.....what a place to see ..... We travelled from Astore to Chillam and from that point the first thing you see is Sheosar Lake and I was mesmerized.....the sky, shining blue lake and chill air ..... This is a Hidden Gem indeed..... Hope I'll go again there

Sheosar Lake remains the best place i have ever visited in Pakistan. The color of water over there and the way sun shines on it. If you visit during the summer season the green areas make the moment magical.

I went there in August last year and yeah it was green. I love how it change shades. Nevertheless it's surely have this otherworldly vibe to it. When I went there were also the clouds which casted giant shadows up close it was breathtaking. There is also another reason why it's called Deosai, there's myth a folktale that our guide told us that once a prince of Skardu came up here and met a peri (fae)/giantess princess who was veey beautiful and offered him to marry her but he refused as he was human and she was not. As a revenge she flooded the Skardu Valley by melting glaciers and causing mega flood and entire Village was destroyed, then it was built back from the scratch.

When i was a kid in 80s a lot of international tourists used to come to Pakistan, since the Afghan war with Russia first and then with US the international tourism suddenly stopped. So, if you get unnecessary attention sometimes you should know that a whole generation is not used to international tourists so don't get nervous generally we are very kind. Hey Flora...if you are reading this...I have a wild suggestion. I think you have visited Fairy Meadows. Its very beautiful😊 so I would suggest you to marry in Fairy Meadows. Fairy meadow as a background, Flowers all around as decoration, you and your bf take vows according to your Customs...I think its Christian wedding, in front of your friends n families. It would be Epic and memorable❤ If you can talk to any travel agency or any of your local Pakistani friend...I think he can clear the area where wedding ceremony will take place, arrange the flowers you like and the feast after marriage and chose a perfect sunny day for mrg.
