All my power outages here in central Maine have me considering a 240v generator tied in to my service panel to power the whole cabin. I'm leaning toward a gasoline pure sine wave "silent" generator. Anyone here have opinions, experience, and thoughts about it? Thanks. PS I alway enjoy your videos, informative and fun (even when it's all about maple syrup:).

Thank you so much for watching! My son just got a propane generator and he really loves it. With all the heavy snowstorms that we’ve had this year, he has lost power quite a bit and really feels blessed to have a generator. All of the gas generators that I have our Honda and they have been really reliable for me. Good luck in your search.

I never considered a propane generator. I do have a propane heater already that I installed after my first winter because I need heat when the power goes out! Leaks have been an issue with propane, though. More research needed! @@karlsoffthegrid1378

Hi Karl! First of all, I have to say that it looks like you finally got some winter weather up there. We've still got some cold weather down here but we did have a few days break from the coldspell just after Christmas. You had a very busy year at the cabin and you got a lot of work done besides just having fun at the cabin. Another cabin in the works? Would this be the cabin home you mentioned several months ago?? The hardware store really stepped up to the plate with their donations to your build and you did a great job with the supplies. Okay, ready for a question? Do you use the deer meat that you hunted like how I would use beef meat? Do you have a form of roasts, hamburger, etc from the deer meat? Stay safe & warm up there!

Hi Deb, it got really cold here as well. Most of the deer meat that we get Margaret cans for our winter stew, some of it, she grinds up into taco meat, but most of it we turn into hamburger or steaks. It’s a very lean protein and is very good for your health. She seasons it just like any hamburger or steak and it really taste good. Have an awesome week. Thanks for watching.

Thanks, Karl. I've had rabbit, squirrel, alligator, lamb, AND EVEN buffalo (in Iowa) meats. I'm not fond of the lamb but all the other meats are good. I have never had deer meat. I bet it's better than lamb.
