Hey Carl i hope your arm is way better. Hope you and family are all safe and healthy too. The WV cabin is in the drilling holes phase for wirring. We are having the best year for the amount of exceptional bucks showing up on our trail cameras. Very excited about that. Drought has been hitting us hard. The storm Helene gave us a boost and helped a lot to increase the water table here. Nothing like the states south of us. Food plots have not been planted yet. The big central field has held on. Hope you catch a break this year wih the predators there. Stay safe! Great work sir!

Hi Karl! Hi Margaret!! WOW! You guys have done a lot of work around the place this season!! Looks good!! Hey, I recently saw something that would be useful in clearing land like yours. It was one of those small bull dozers with a grinding attachment on the front-end. I don't know the technical terms for it all; hope what I described makes sense. Anyway, it could grind away at a tall tree until it fell, then it could grind away at the trunk that was left, and then move back to the part of the tree that fell and grind it up,too! I thought it was amazing and a great way to clear land. Happy Hunting!

Just imagine what all you could do with that little bull-dozer (or is it a bobcat?). We are doing just fine here. Helene was devastating to the NW coast of Florida and then continued on with major damage on northward. She was a bad one! We're more towards the East coast of FL and we got prepared for anything that could happen with our power units and hurricane supply box standing ready but we only had some really strong winds with a little rain. No major damage; just some little tree branches scattered in the backyard. We were very fortunate. I've just recently gotten a new -- but considered "used" because it''s old -- bread machine and I've been experimenting with making different types of bread. I've made a couple different loaves of white bread and a rye bread. My first white bread loaf was way too hearty (too hearty -- more like downright heavy) but I figured out it could be a mixture of old yeast and the fact that the machine had never been used. It did a great job on subsequent loaves. Has Margaret ever made bread in a bread machine? If so, got any good recipes to share??

Great tip on the flashing orientation. Weather permitting I would put a hot fire in the stove and blk pipes . Fire it up outdoors first . Some find the smell and it kinda burns the eyes if I recall offensive .😂👍🏽 I have a small house with no attic wallboard on the ceiling 4/12 pitch . not sure if I should vent it outside through the wall then go up. It would be a lot easier than cutting a hole in that plasterboard on the ceiling. I know it’s not as efficient when your chimney outside for draft purposes anyways just kicking around some ideas anybody’s help would be welcomed.

@karlsoffthegrid1378 9 күн бұрын
@@chrisnielsen3562 thanks for sharing the information. Those are all great tips. I am so glad that I went straight up through the ceiling. It definitely eliminates any rollback of the smoke when the door is opened. Thanks for watching.
@chrisnielsen3562
@chrisnielsen3562 6 күн бұрын
@@karlsoffthegrid1378 I think once your chimney is warm you shouldn’t have any rollback if you have it above the peak of the house. I think the worst part is warm me up to chimney first to create a draft. With a chimney on the outside, it’s always in the cold, it’s in the attic, but it’s still cool up there. but when it’s -30 outside, it’ll take a while for the heat up to create a draft. That’s what I’m thinking anyways.
