Jojo saying she wants kids so soon legitimately scares me. She comes across far too self-centred to take care of a kid. And after the abuse to children that she was implicit in and the abusers she surrounds herself with...please no. She doesn't realise all the grooming she went through, saying "me at 12 was different" is literally a groomed child response from being told they're "so mature". I think this is why she now comes across as a kid trying to sit at the adult table. I really hope she's in very good therapy

Your opinion about her or how she "comes out to you" unfortunately says nothing about WHO she IS privately. You are judging her based on Like 30/40 percent of what you see..... In the kindest way possible....I'm having a hard time supporting JoJo because of the *extreme vanity*. Comparing herself to Lady Gaga, who literally broke so many barriers for the queer community and faced extreme ridicule and backlash from society at large, who didn't really become famous until she'd already written, recorded, and produced an entire album....when JoJo released one song she didn't write or produce and is getting critiqued for saying things like "I want to create a new genre of music called gay pop" and then when being called out for that, saying "I didn't create it, but I'll be the Chief Marketing Officer" is absolutely WILD and RIDICULOUS.
@Rainbow_Warrior_Princess
@Rainbow_Warrior_Princess 4 ай бұрын
"*extreme vanity*" Many singers and actors are vain and pretentious, whereas Jojo is instead more of an extrovert and addicted to attention which is also not unusual for celebrities, but what makes her special is not being afraid of being different, homosexual, cringy and weird and also not of negative feedback, as she is sadly used to be bullied and made fun of from a very young age being a child star and public figure.

Fully entitled to your own opinion surrounding it and I’m not here to cancel Jojo. 19:05 Ellen is awesome. Thank u!! Some now take for granted how much backlash Ellen went thru for publicly coming out and what she did for gays like me. She lost everything in 1998. She had to defend queerness against homophobes on Oprah just for saying she's gay out loud. Her sitcom was cancelled. She received death threats and took them with a grace. She turned around much of middle America years later through her talk show and love and humor. I will never ever ever forget the day that she announced the legalization of gay marriage in 2008. I was only 13 and didn't know I was gay but that day still makes me cry. She will forever hold my gratitude and a place in my gay heart for everything she means to me and queer history...

I watched to give Shan the view however in my personal opinion, this was an unproductive episode and Shan normally asks very good thought provoking questions that creates good conversations . This was a missed opportunity to ask questions that could have really changed the narrative around Jojo coming into young adulthood and how/why she’s looking to change the conversation regarding that, instead it was just a big ego boost . . I understand covering her coming out story but most if not all of the questions were things she discussed on Call Her Daddy or other interviews. Appreciate Shannon trying but just because she’s gay doesn’t mean we need to support what she does when there’s no clear vision. Jojo is an entertainer and knows how to put on a persona(this is not meant to be mean she literally stated this), that’s all she’s really shown. She’s still young so there’s hope for a change I just think Shannon missed the mark on this one.

I had really hoped that Shannon would've been the older queer person who could've been a genuine guide for a clearly misguided person like Jojo. The bullying Jojo receives is definitely sad and more than one person should get but being queer doesn't automatically mean that she's above criticism. I'm sad to see someone as seemingly wise as Shannon ignore Jojo's friendships with predators and her blatant disregard for queer history (especially queer music history). I think this podcast would've been a beautiful, natural place to have a dialogue with Jojo about the importance of truly understanding the community she wants to be embraced by.

I think it’s crazy that a kid, well a young adult experiences so much scrutiny. She’s had to grow up in the public eye so early and she has grown ass adults talking bad about her? I will never understand. Thanks for having her Shannon. It was nice to see her in this environment. She deserves grace as we all do❤

@@sophieblair7466did she literally do the abusing of children? Honest question. Or was she just a part of someone (Abby) who was hired to make a reality TV show and be very out of control with the kids. (Still abusing kids) but the TV show wanted that. How is she a perpetrator? I’m just curious, I obviously don’t know. Thanks ❤😊

I also think it’s sad how much hate she gets. Even since she was little. Abby had all the girls write reasons why they dislike JoJo and tell her to her face, when she was like 8. She’s a strong person. That’s all I know.

@@Sammy_T12 no, this has nothing to do with abby, she made a dance group with her mom where they forced the girls to work way too hard and very strict, which the parents of the girls didn't expect and the highlight of it all was when they forced a girl that was after surgery and was bleeding from her bellybutton to suck it up and put a pad on it to get back to work, just because she has trauma from her own experience doesn't justify in any way her doing the same to other kids, she needs therapy instead of continuing to be in the public eye

I feel like if I talked to most people one on one I could find a reason to like them and would absolutely understand them better BUT it doesn't change their character and JoJo unfortunately treated her girl group terribly, supports child groomers, and I dunno I can't support someone who harms children even if they themselves are young and learning. Being kind is a great message, but we shouldn't be kind to the point that we ignore abusers and make space for them in the community.

People dont like JoJo because she's a bully, a toxic partner, and fraternizes with bigoted people among other things. Shannon could host the podcast in a more objective way if she doesnt want her guests to reflect on her, but she makes her personal relationship to each guest clear. And this one is clearly her kissing ass to improve her own career. She needs a publicist to prevent choices like this

oh wow i thought the criticism of jojo siwa was just that she's out of touch and dismissive of the people who have been making queer pop music for decades, but now i'm learning about the abuse allegations, eesh. i listen to some lesbian podcasts that love her so i guess i've gotten a biased view prior to reading the comments (and as an alleged abuser, identifying with michael jackson's struggles publicly... a choice)

I know nothing about you, except there will be somebody who needs to see and hear you so they can live their truths. To the haters. Go f*ck yourselves until you have walked in these lady shoes.
