I bought Asymmetry the day it came out and I'm here on 9.17.21 to say The Refusal is one of the most astounding tracks in my collection. How do you write this kind of thing? Ingenious in every way.

[Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wrung We both compose the wreckage [Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wrung We both compose the wreckage [Chorus 1: Ian Kenny] There ain't nothing you can say to prove That I held the rope that let you down As we crash into the waves and drown This isn't possible [Verse 1: Ian Kenny] So if there's any doubt I will throw you a line Excuses, excuses Don't ever remind me How it is and always will be [Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wrung We both compose the wreckage [Chorus 1: Ian Kenny] There ain't nothing you can say to prove That I held the rope that let you down As we crash into the waves and drown This isn't possible [Verse 2: Ian Kenny] You've been this way before Shadows here all know you I don't know what you've had Or what it is inside you But we are all around you We are all around you We are all around you If love comes first Maybe our lies will dissolve Young fruit still not bruised Hey maybe, just maybe We all made our moves And mine could have helped you I could have helped you [Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wreck We've both got piles of regrets [Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wreck We've both got piles of regrets [Chorus 2] There ain't nothing you can say to prove That I held the rope that let you down As we crash into the waves and drown This isn't possible This is impossible

It´s baffling to me how I am able to listen to music about abuse without realizing that I have become the vulnerable one.

Love Karnivool but wish there weren't the scream parts in the vocals. It takes away from the magical vibe of Karnivool.

And here I am, cannot get into this band because they're lacking the scream parts. It's ok from the instrumental point of view, but I find metal music without extreme vocals much less interesting. Googled heaviest songs of this band, listened to this one and well, I am disappointed. Not my cup of tea apparently.
