This just doesn't age. This performance is perfect. For those who aren't aware, this segment on Australian radio station Triple J is broadcast live across the country at 8:15am. That's right, they created this live and quarter past 8 in the morning. Most of us can barely create a decent breakfast at that time of the day.

they're professionals... its their bread and butter, no puns about breakfast intended. Like yea I'm a big fan of Karnivool but this comparison to times of the day and their performance is goofy lol. there were periods in the past where I would wake up at 4 am for work. 🤷🏼‍♂ The time of the day really has no bearing on their excellence

Hi Jules, I’m 64 and when my youngest son was 15 he put me on to them, he is now 28. We have seen them (together) 6 or 7 times since, The 2nd album Sound Awake is in my opinion the finest Australian album ever produced (for ageing metal heads). They had a tour of the Australian east coast in the works when COVID hit. They did a live online show recently which i missed. Great band.

@Sean PA I didn't realise it was a different producer but I've always felt disappointed by Asymmetry. I love experimental music-big Mars Volta fan-but for me Asymmetry just didn't gel; It didn't stick the landing. That said, I love that they went there, that they pushed new ground. It's not something you can say about every band. Hopefully the next album matures that experimental style and like you say the old producer is back. Two phenomenal albums deserve a worthy follow up.

This is awesome! I listen to this version at least once a day! For the guitar players out there who like me want to learn to play this: Tuning seems to be B F# B F# B E (low to high) In the Chorus I think he switches between 2-2-2-X-0-0 and a kind of A7 shape (X-0-2-0-2-0) I love the outro the most (theses words of wisdom...) - this seems to be 5-5-5-X-0-0, followed by X-2-4-0-0-X and X-0-2-4-0-X (leaving the high E string open on these last 2 chords doesn’t sound so good IMO)

Im pretty sure the lyrics are right and when he says "first" it's probably a metaphorical transition in terms of the song's meaning. Throughout the song he's singing "let's reset it all." So in the finale of the song he begins by saying "this is the worst day..." signaling an end. But as the music lightens up at the very end he says "this is the first..." signaling a new beginning. the irony is that despite the reset, the cycle will probably continue where humans (we) strive for a destructive path for power. it's why the part that reads "These words of wisdom, come with lack of vision" never changes despite the change from worst to first. also the last few notes hold an eerie, almost foreboding, tone before the track cuts out.

The ending is beautiful enough in the original, this is just amazing... Plus a live fade out on acoustic instruments is so hard to do and rare, this band is so incredible
