This just doesn't age. This performance is perfect. For those who aren't aware, this segment on Australian radio station Triple J is broadcast live across the country at 8:15am. That's right, they created this live and quarter past 8 in the morning. Most of us can barely create a decent breakfast at that time of the day.

We have seen them (together) 6 or 7 times since, The 2nd album Sound Awake is in my opinion the finest Australian album ever produced (for ageing metal heads). They had a tour of the Australian east coast in the works when COVID hit. They did a live online show recently which i missed. Great band.

I love experimental music-big Mars Volta fan-but for me Asymmetry just didn't gel; It didn't stick the landing. That said, I love that they went there, that they pushed new ground. It's not something you can say about every band. Hopefully the next album matures that experimental style and like you say the old producer is back. Two phenomenal albums deserve a worthy follow up.

The first time when Ian sings "These words of wisdom, come with lack of vision. This is the WORST day I've ever..." That's what I hear three times, but in the last two times I hear "This is the FIRST day I've ever..." I'm wrong? Sorry for my poor english. I love Karnivool and I make sure what the lyrics says.
@droosef10 жыл бұрын
You're correct, the first couple of times he says worst, last few he says first :)
@Ralenissocold10 жыл бұрын
Im pretty sure the lyrics are right and when he says "first" it's probably a metaphorical transition in terms of the song's meaning. Throughout the song he's singing "let's reset it all." So in the finale of the song he begins by saying "this is the worst day..." signaling an end. But as the music lightens up at the very end he says "this is the first..." signaling a new beginning. the irony is that despite the reset, the cycle will probably continue where humans (we) strive for a destructive path for power. it's why the part that reads "These words of wisdom, come with lack of vision" never changes despite the change from worst to first. also the last few notes hold an eerie, almost foreboding, tone before the track cuts out.
