The rate of Diyat is either 1000 Dinars or 10,000 Dirhams, roughly 375 tola gold or 30.6 Kgs silver respectively, whichever remains fit as per the case. Secondly, confession to culpability of the murder by the murderer remains a basic point. If the culprit sticks to his stance that he/she is not culpable and even tries to evade law and gives false statement, such a culprit ought to be penalised by the State forthwith with max penalty, regardless if his/her heirs are willing to offer diyat behind the scenes, because ethically and principally, the law may show sympathy for a person who admits his guilt rather than a stubborn bone who is adamant on his/denial.

Unfortunate accident. The responsible should be punished as per law. But for the safety and security of bike riders that for their own safety and security, please use a helmet and try to ride in the left lane. With some small safety measures, the risks of death and injuries for bike rides could be minimized. I have been a bike rider in my early days and later on a car driver. But, let me say that not the bikers nor the car or truck divers are not following the traffic rules. You all are discussing this accident from only the angle of Rich and Poor, drug, and Prado vs. bike. I agree with this angle of the case but you also need to discuss a long-term solution to minimize such accidents in the future.
