Kart Nationals Night 2, Scrambling To Find An Engine!

We made it to nationals night 2 where our clone motor gives us issues and we look to do an engine swap at the track. We attempt to go 4 for 4 on making the show this winter season but a few obstacles stand in our way.

Gotta say, looks as if you have a totally different attitude this year compared to last. You used to take the track hoping to do well. Now you take the track knowing you are going to move forward. Fun to see.

Going back to pure stock the last few seasons paid off. I could still be running it and be a front runner, but the barn is famous for its clone class. Even if I’m struggling, I know I’m running against the best in the area.

Glad to be able to help, from the pov seemed like it wasn’t struggling under a load as bad as the previous videos. Was able to load up and pull right back up in the Rpms. Also noticed u never fell behind on the starts. Good hole shot power 👍

Looked like you might add some cross weight on the right front/left rear. Or take caster out of the right front

Pretty sure you sure classify that old motor as blown up. You were pulling so many rpm in your last video. That damage is classic oil separation from overrev. Blown up. The rod just forgot to let go.

This motor is built to pull 7600-7800, or so they said. It was pulling 7300.

Well we are in Nebraska . We run on clay tracks . The kart is a 212 predator with some mods. We run on bull ring tracks with 6200 - 6400 rpm 11-9-6 RR & RF . LR is 11-8.1-6 LF 11-6-5 gear ratio 6.13 - 1 Thanks

@@THEIRONWORKER well if the class allows it and the majority of racers are running slicks, I wouldn’t run treads. On dirt bullrings like this one I’m on, treads are nice because you can keep the kart free. Clay tracks you’ll benefit more from running prepped slicks and locking the kart down.
