What am I can’t understand is why is “reaper” not going after the Burris name? Burris puts on events and you got Burris only tracks and they’re more expensive….. what is it about the Maxxis name that reaper is wanting to knock them down and is the Burris the next target for the reaper?

I don’t think the tracks where Burris are good are particularly good for reapers. I think they see the SE as where they wanna make their mark, And they have. imo

@ agreed they have definitely made their impression felt even before this. I’m kinda with you on a tire is a tire and it’s gonna always be a tire. Yes they are important. Yea they’re what makes you fast. But like you said the racer is gonna buy what wins. Open tire rule and let the cream rise. 🏁

It's good and bad that tire brands are having drama. It means us racers are gonna get lower prices. Part of the reason why people buy X brand tires is strictly based on the tracks they run. I have to run either a Burris or a Hoosier. But I run outlaw karts not the flat stuff y'all run.

Open tire, let the racers decide what brand they want... if brand X is cheaper but not as fast they won't be around long unless they COMPETE and make a better product.... it's not competition if one brand buys up a track and demands you use their product. Seems that is being afraid of competition to me...

When tracks are sanctioned racers have no choice....Burris are by the most expensive. Would be nice to see open tire rules. Let competition determine the market. I am personally new to the kart world. If I want to a complete set brand new, mounted and cut it's around the 600 dollar mark. And to be competitive you need quite a few sets. It gets expensive especially for new teams. I'm taking over as president at a local kart track in central ny and we have 2 tracks left to run at. Can am is 75 miles away, and weedsport is 35. I get that a business has to make money, but this sport is dieing because of rising costs.

I don’t think you can lay the price increase solely on the Tire manufacturers. Cost of materials to make them rose as well. I just have a hard time believing they are willing to sacrifice the entire industry (and their share of it) for max profits. They will cease to make any money if they truly believed or behaved like that. The sport can come back strong with a better economic outlook (it has before). When people have more disposable income there is money for racing. IMO.

If reaper is so good let the racers decides. It’s their money being saved right? Seems that most tracks going to reaper are sponsored by reaper.

I remember when Burris about owned the NE. I do possibly see more tracks being open tire with all the options? Tire will tell.
