@@pardesi_swiss IK waived the service fee for two days only. The facilities and services of this corridor will be used by the Indian citizens only. It is fair that they pay and do not expect Pakistani taxpayers to pay this fee as well. Pakistan has already spent Rs 13 billion on this project to give the Sikh community access to their holy site. They should be grateful to Pakistan and not whinging about a service charge

first imran khan tweeted that nobody required a passport during inauguration day and Gurupurab day but then later pakistan officials said that passport is required so if many isnta and facebook pages viral the first tweet of imran khan but those are not aware of official statement so people should need to do some research. visit the official website from India side. It's clearly says that passport is required and people went there without any passport and even many of them visiting without any confirmation. applicants will recieve confirmation before 4 days from a date of the visit and when you'll receive official confirmation, you can visit but if you only printed out those application forms then how they'll allow you to enter? one more thing . . .suppose if Indian govt recieve 10 thousand application per day and they'll send those to Pakistan govt and it upto Pakistan govt that how many people they gonna allow so when that list come from pakistan, indian govt send them a confirmation so it's not upto Indian govt. like how they're not aware about it so as you're not aware about foreign policies.

Rauf Ali It’s not Modi govt to be blamed for. It’s the Indian foreign affairs that have been giving inadequate information on their web portals. Let it be applying for passports in India or applying for Indian visa from anywhere across world. The information is often misleading and even Indians face problems while filling for Indian visa. Their forms are complex, they always require dated information and a pile of unnecessary documentation. God forbid you miss one thing, the entire application gets rejected and you have to reapply with new fees. In some cases you have to go to Indian embassies two times in a row for minor corrections and delayed processing and collection times. I myself have been the victim of many such unannounced uncertain conditionality

Rauf Ali if Sikhs, who live in villages can go to Canada applying via internet and agents, they sure can do some more research. I agree that there are no private agents or even NGOs to help and govt should work on them but that despair sounding situation is totally system generated. All in all, it’s an excellent gesture from the people of Pakistan and I can only hope it gets better as people get more familiar to processes in place.

The problem is NOT from Pak side. Indian website had blocked applications from 9-12 November days ago and limited the number of pilgrims who wanted to visit Darbar Sahib. That's why the Gurdwara was empty on the 10th of Nov.

Pakistan has waived the passport requirement as well as registration. As long they have a valid ID and after crossing zero line to Pakistan immigration they will let them through as long maximum capacity have not been reached for they day. There is no condition of Passport by Pakistan's government. The condition of 5000 pilgrims per day is because of capacity. Phase 2 of Kartarpur corridor will be started soon, that will help to increase number of pilgrims.

It is not any ones mistake. Pakistani Govt gave exemption from Passport but Indian MEA refused to change agreement which was signed between the two parties. So there would be the use of Passport.

Aadhar card was introduced (pushed actually) by our govt. to be used as proof of identity, proof of address as well as proof of age. so now they don't trust Aadhar card?
