This video was really helpful! I don't do karting seriously as it's too expensive, but I've been to a few open races and done a few endurance races with my friends and the only signal my friends and I knew was the "Slowing down and wanting to pit" signal😂

Trust me, no serious driver is paying much attention to a mechanic telling them to overtake, or not overtake. We all have eyes and can figure this out ourselves. Plus, it's supposed to be illegal...12.5.7. Any Driver receiving outside assistance, other than by an Official, between coming under starter’s orders and the end of the race may be disqualified from the results at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course. I think it's more a case of mechanics getting excited, and conscious that they're getting paid so want to appear to be as involved as possible

The last time gave a point to pass and still got ran off track 🤬 Not even giving a extra tire width of space was good enough . Would do track orientation for rookie drivers and told them to watch my hands ! Being a open practice we also had a few Rotax on track !! So had to drive slow enough so they could drive as fast as they could then had to pick right spots as to not impede the way faster karts ! Got the you're number 1 signal once 😂! So much for police being professional off duty ! He denied then found video of another driver getting same treatment ! Glad he actually likes both of us 😁🏁
