Overeem had a good strategy, I was actually very impressed. He kept himself low the entire time with his legs planted further back out of Brock's range. If Brock had of just shot for a takedown he could of easily eaten a knee or just get sprawled into a choke. I personally think the way Brock tried to go about it, was his best way, but just wasn't successful in defending. I do believe his best chance of getting Overeem down was to clinch him up first, and then try dragging him down.

I remember this card well. Lesnar got beat by a striker, but it was a shame that overeem tested positive for bull testarone. Nate did a great job against cowboy, but both guys got great futures ahead of them. Johnny and Alexander had great knockouts. Sad to say though, Alexander got his title shot and missed which is fact and now johny gets his turn.

alistair is a very patient man, some of the guys asking him questions really really should do their research on overeem before they ask him anything. Him intimidated by the cage? are they being idiots on purpose with selective memory, he fought against Brett Rogers in a cage, and had a career fighting in the cage in strikeforce, training, etc. its like asking Santa if he celebrates christmas. Overeem fought against guys who were 350 pounds plus throughout his career.

Here's how it is:Lesnar was a strong wrestler,a bad striker,beat Mir and Couture (Herring doesn't count for much,sorry) and had a great fight against Carwin in which he displayed his durability and resolve and won after getting the shit beaten out of him.He defended his title twice.He was power and speed,not much technique at all.But what he'll be remembered for most was bringing positive attention to the UFC/MMA at a crucial time in their histories.That is what he did,and he did it very well.
