Pressure is on both fighters, The Reem has to have a great performance, this will be only his second top 10 opponent at Heavyweight and the first one (Werdum) was good....He should be able to KO or TKO Lesnar early, but then again thats what Carwin thought.

@nakedyoga420 I wouldn't say that fight against Werdum sucked. I'd say that a ground expert like Werdum was made to look like a fool with how easily Overeem defended it. Overeem is a BIG guy who Brock won't be able to bully with size. I think the biggest problem is actually Overeem's chin. In K1 he uses the big gloves as a shield but UFC gloves will go right through. Overeem doesn't have a great chin. It will be an interesting fight. FINALLY the UFC has an exciting heavyweight division!

Striking vs Grappling. Statistic has favoured the grappler as the likelihood of landing a KO punch is slimmer than the success rate of shooting a double. Cain is well rounded and nullified Brocks wrestling, Overeem is not and I think will have problems in getting to his feet/stuffing the takedown

Isn't it interesting how everyone says Jds can't be beat, but right before he fought Cain, everyone said Cain was going to kill him. LI guess people these days love to jump on the bandwagon. But I totally agree with you. The only great striker he ever fought was an old and washed up Cro cop. I feel like the difference in this fight could be overeems knees and kicks. @obelisk415 Overeem isnt just a striker he has other skills as well. Brock going for a takedown will risk a power knee to the head. I dont think its so cut and dry like you put it. Brock is big and powerful but Overeem has power as well. Brock does have impressive conditioning for a Heavy Weight but I dont think this fight is going past the first or second round. Not to mention that Xtreme Couture will put up a good game plan. Alistair has more experience and will exploit Brocks weaknesses.

@ahopele I honestly think fighters often fight better at a bigger weight class. Ppl oftten say, fighters have a size advantage when they drop down a weight class. I highly disagree. Look at Hendo and how well he performs after moving up a weight class. Same goes for Overeem, he fights better against bigger guys. lighter guys are typically quicker so they have the advantage. And going down a weight class, a fighters will be exhausted and physically drained! Trust me Reem is perfect at hvyweight!

So as much as i think wrestlers are impressive, i think it really depends more on the fighter.. Overeem has never been taken down and controlled for a long period of time.. And even Cain velasquez got right back up after Brock took him down.. Overeem is much stronger and it wont be a problem!

@andcbwk Brock took Shane down and then sub'd him. He did take Cain down and couldn't hold him on the ground. The think is that Cain is as they say a world class wrestler.
