I would like to know where you guys stayed which hotel ? And thank you for such a great video of Kas 💙

You know what I really liked about your video? That you refrained from playing that horrible electro(ish) music that all other travel vlogs here on youtube display. Instead, I found your video very relaxing and actually in line with the laidback vibe I would expect to find in Kas. I've only been to Kastelorizo (across the sea from where you were) and remember looking at Kas in the distance and wondering how it would be over there.

Thanks! We really try to showcase the vibe of the place with the music in all our videos. So glad you noticed!

I agree that Kekova is an amazing place if you like swimming and snorkeling. I’ve been going to Kaş since the 90s when it was a quiet town but it still is my favourite spot in the south of Turkey. Also, I really enjoy swimming in Kaş Camping as the hotel front may be a bit crowded. I have also stayed in the town of Patara many times and it is probably the most underdeveloped place around that area, in the positive sense. You can have a very quiet holiday in Patara just enjoying the sea and nature and peace and quiet.

Agreed! 😊 we love Kas! We didn’t get to stay in Patara but explored it for the day and the beach is so huge there, lots of space!

You can choose to explore Kas with adventure, such as diving, or take scenic cruises to Meis or Kekova. The surrounding area has great natural beauty (beach at Patara) and historical significance (many impressive ancient ruins). Best of all, it's hands-down the most value of any country on the Mediterranean.

,It is important to note about the hike part of the Lycian way. The way does not start at the beach, as you can understand, but in the village above. Turn right to the village and immediately left until the end. Better to park the car there. The way is not well marked and not very easy. There is no boat immediately available to take you back and we waited two and a half hours instead. Others gave up and went back uphill all the way back.
@worldwildhearts Жыл бұрын
Good to note! We found a boat ride right away but I guess it always depends on how many people are there ☺️

If we ever get back to "normal" times, my first travel would be to Turkey, and certainly to Kas. But I am on a tight budget. In my Latin American travels, I usually stay at hostels, or pensions, which are often private homes with rooms for rent. Do you happen to know if these exist in Turkey also, and if so, in Kas? I find it not only cheaper, but sometimes you get to eat with the family, and one can get all the real "tourist" information, and recommendations from them which are usually better than the official brochures from travel agencies.
@worldwildhearts2 жыл бұрын
Yes they have hostels all around Turkey! Including Kas. We are also budget travelers ourselves and actually decided to stay in an Airbnb while in Kas since it was so cheap for the nightly price at that time

Nice Vlog like all your Vlogs what I see but I think its very important to say that „Patara“ is also an Ancient City where the St. Nicholas is born and „Myra“ is the Place where he lives as an Bishoph from Myra and where you can find his grave . this is the St. Nicholas where all around the World people give gifts to Childrens at 6. of December .. its the day when he is died .
@worldwildhearts3 жыл бұрын
That is a very good fact. We didn’t have time to visit the St Nicholas Basilica and so didn’t really have enough footage to include that! But Ine does celebrate Sinterklaas on the 6th of December (it’s a Belgian tradition!) so she was pretty excited that he actually came from there!

We followed your lead on your highlighted trail to limanagzi bay. You didn't mention that the first half of that is road-walking. Still worthwhile, but if one has a car, it's better to drive through the subdivisions and construction sites and start walking where the trail begins. (see alltrails)

Hi. We're going to Ouledeniz this summer and ur v-log has helped me plan ... can you provide more info on the Lycian way hike? I couldn't find a short one.
@worldwildhearts2 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome! Oludeniz is beautiful. The Lycian way hike is a long-distance hike that starts near Oludeniz and you will definitely find the trail when you’re there. You can find more info here: globetrottergirls.com/things-you-need-to-know-when-hiking-the-lycian-way/ or you could also search for this book: “The Lycian Way: Turkey's First Long Distance Walking Route by Clow, Kate (2014) Paperback”. We hiked multiple short sections of the hike and googled where to start from! There’s markers as well

As a Turkish gal who was searching up Kas/Kalkan. I am very impressed by your video. My family ownes a summer beach house in Seferihisar, Izmir. I usually dont go anywhere else but i really want to travel for my honeymoon hopefully next year. What season would you say is the best to travel here in order to enjoy kas quitly?
@worldwildhearts2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! 😊 we were in Kas around the beginning of November and it was very quiet. It was actually a little too quiet and many restaurants were closed for the season. Apparently the town dies down after October. Our best bet is probably to visit in October. It’s still nice weather (mostly) and a lot more quiet! It’s absolutely gorgeous there 😎

WARNING. The limanagzi beach now is all private and there is no turtles anymore. The hiking is nice with the caves and tombs, but not super easy, also be VERY CAREFULL about coming back before the sunset. A wolf was barking at me, twice. He was behind the trees and I was on the main way, so I had the advatage to run away, which I did, very fast. Those natural places are a bit wild, so be responsible! Come back when its a daytime so you dont find the wolf
