Levy of Gotham chess complained about getting paired with Nihal in 3 minute blitz and got massacred both games playing good theoretical chess. I posted that when he gets paired with such monsters to try some not so popular dirty trap to have any chance of winning. Even super gms fall for them occasionally in blitz. I was around 1700 in tournaments back in the 80s and beat a few 2000s with such traps in classical games because they were cocky and moved quickly in the opening. One game was over very quickly and I was the first to post result. My opponent was so shocked at the mate that he stared at the board in a catatonic state for about 20 minutes before leaving his seat. Great video as always.

At 8 mins 20 sec. Long ago in a postal chess game the same occurred. The correspondent said after any move he would play B - g 7 So the white player went B - h 6

Dude, how do you remember all the opening, and names of the openings, with all your fingers, and toes ? I mean, I’ve been playing on and off, for the past 38 years, and I just can’t remember this stuff, let alone, and square names, like easily, unless I’m looking at it. Yes, I’ve tried over time, but, I just forget over time. Do you have a better way, or recommendation, on this. Because, like most of us, it’s hard to remember, let alone the lines.

Chess is not a game, it's an art and a language that you just get used to, over time. The more you play, study, and analyze other people's games, the more you know the language of chess. Stop looking at it as a game.

Is it possible to go from 1600 to 2000 within 3 months? Great Vid as always GM Kaspa , Your tips/tricks have helped me get from 700 to 1600 although it has taken me 2 years to be honest.

I think it’s possible. If you aren’t better than opponent you can be better prepared. You only need to win 51% of all games to gradually trend up in rank. Suppose you always learned the most common 95% of responses in your ranking and had a response and then the next 95% and had a response… you could go 13 moves deep and still cover 51% of games. So if you learn trappy aggressive gambit lines that require precision and often get opponent to give up in 13 moves or less you will trend up in rank even if you lose every other game. If you get good at puzzles and end game and defensive chess you might be able to draw or battle back from unfamiliar openings as well.

With dedication, organized learning, discipline, and patience, I believe it is. Just like marriage, chess is an institution where u never graduate fast. Chess is not a game, it's an art that u need to perfect over time. Just like in education, chess is a school on its own where u need to pass from one grade to another over time. It takes more time, more research, and more practice to perfect this art without rushing to increase your rating. Start working on the following everyday, if u want to improve fast: - Solve at least 2 chess puzzles daily. - Pick yo favorite opening and see how your favorite GM plays that opening successfully. - Try to memorize that opening as played by your favorite GM. - Go and try to play that same opening in OTB classical matches. - Play more longer time control games than Blitz, when learning. - Analyze every exciting game that you play, following your favorite GM's opening. - Repeat the process over & over. While this may seem obvious, simply playing more games and solving at least 2 puzzles a day, is one of the most important habits to develop on your path to chess mastery. For a more direct answer to your question read this article: chessklub.com/a-dozen-ways-to-be-a-better-chess-player/
