Grand Master Garry Kasparov, world chess champion, plays a Simul game against multiple opponents.
Garry Kasparov, the youngest world chess champion in history at 22 in 1985, Kasparov remained the top-rated player in the world for 20 years, until his retirement in 2005. He then became a leader of the Russian pro-democracy movement against Vladimir Putin and is currently the chairman of the NY-based Human Rights Foundation. The Kasparov Chess Foundation promotes chess in education around the world with centers in the US, Europe, and Africa with more soon to come. Kasparov speaks and writes frequently on technology, decision-making, and risk. His book, "How Life Imitates Chess," has been published in more than 20 languages.

@@dillonsmith1801 Its hard? No. Kasp has 15 years in a roll in a champion of chess. He is a greatest living chess player. Magnus was treined by Kasparov, and lost 2 games and draw 1. So...

Wtf? This puts a whole new light on Kasparov centering pieces, as if to make it more aesthetic! Didn't touch other players in untimed games! Is this a form of intimidation or impedance to other player? I'd be distracted if someone touched one of my pieces! On my time! How many nanoseconds lost? Just in the impedance? Let alone regrouping, becoming undistracted? It took the kid a little while to move, I recall! I noticed in realtime, veneto (by the way). Some chess trash talk! And more! I hadnt noticed the rook b2, knocked to b1 (22:50). Thnx for pointing it out! It was if he was punishing the boy for having his piece so far off center! Watch las right after move, head down. Then after win. How gracious. Indeed!?

Michael Paradise Ha-ha, on Russian it names "naebal" ("наебал") ))).
@jadarite
@jadarite 9 жыл бұрын
Michael Paradise I don't think it mattered. It actually looks like he was trying to help the kid. If the rook stayed at b1, and he missed Rxb2 (pawn), then it's quite possible he would miss Rxb1(rook!) also. Then what? Rxb1 and the other Rxb1 (the other way just trades off the rooks which is not as bad, but still bad). Black had a bishop on f5 about to take the knight on c2. White would need to bring their bishop on f3 to d1 to protect it, meaning no time to keep rook on b1. He was in a lost position anyway by the looks of it. If you are down you want to keep the better pieces and get your opponent's pawns.
@stevesebzda570
@stevesebzda570 9 жыл бұрын
jadarite, that's good insite! Thanks! That was 'very' good of you. You gave me insite, that I couldn't see, into this situation. Wow. I couldn't get past the thought, that they could have had a connection. Now I see, thanks to you, 'Kasparov' was just looking at him, that's all. Maybe analyzing the kid, who knows?:-) jadarite, all of the above, I thought it applied to the game, when Kasparov was standing, staring at the player, seated. Analyze that one,(the game), for me. Would ya? 'Pretty please'. Lol! Some of these thoughts, still apply here though. I no longer, think K was being mean. You changed that, me. Thanks again!

The elo rating list it's not good today. A 2800 player in 1999 is more strong compared to a 2800 player in 2013 with very few few exceptions. This is because of rating inflation started in the 70's.

Well, as he's been retired since 2005 he cannot be rated anymore. Besides, knowledge is never lost when you're an expert as he is, that's why none of those guys could beat him, I think the only one who can do it nowadays, is Carlsen.

You can't in sport because that's only possible in your 20s - after that your physical condition can't keep up. So I'm not sure it would be fair to compare to sports. What other game that isn't physical is as popular as chess? Kasparov is fantastic though - I'm a fan.
