On move 6, would it be just as well to play A3, so that if the Knight attacks, the Bishop can move back to A2, maintaining the pressure on A7, rather than the less active C2?

The solution of the puzzle is pretty counter-intuitive, the solution is Nf3#. The knight which is defended by the queen, covers e5 and g5. The rook which checks the king covers e4, f4 and g4. And the bishop covers e3 and g3

I'm a long time italian player and this system is best, i would always either castle kings side or trade light squared bishop and then lose or draw a drawish endgame, this way I'm winning more games by italian with almost 83% accuracy.

Nf3 is the solution to the puzzle, and it didn't take 10 seconds. I just looked at which squares the king could still move to and asked where I could move the knight (delivering discovered check) to cut off those squares. To be fair, I am not sure I would have seen it if I wasn't made aware that a mate in 1 existed.
