A brilliant quotation from Kasparov. 04:20. The only time in my entire career where I prevented castling on both king- and queenside with one move!

anyone else who did something similar? 😊

Solution to the puzzle: White plays Bg7, attacking the rook, after the rook moves Rg8 attacking the bishop then Bxf6, after Bxf6 white plays Nd5 forking the rook and the bishop and white will either loses the exchange or loses a full piece, white will be in a completely winning endgame in both cases. Edit: Forgot to mention after Nd5 the e pawn cannot capture because it’s pinned from the rook

Ah yes clear out the e file to pin the e pawn and finally make good of the knight.. brilliant

True to form. Very attentive to his subscribers. Some were asking for a Sicilian game where the dragon wins. And now Suren serves is up this fascinating game.

{1.Bg7,Rg8} {2.Bxf6,Bxf6} {3.Nd5,Then rook protects itself} {4.Knight takes the bishop with Nxf7+} The moves mentioned above is the answer to the puzzle. THANK YOU

Kasparov really made great use of his rooks after Anand made the dxe6 mistake opening the e-file.

Anand was brave to play the Yugoslav against Kasparov, I dont think any other player from that era would have.

If you do not play the Yugoslav, you get eaten by the dragon. If you play the Yugoslav, see the video.

I like it when I can figure it out in 30 seconds or less. Bg7 ... then Nd5, and it's downhill from there.

Bg7..Rg8 Bxf6..Bxf6 Nd5..Rxc2 (or something) Nxf6+..Kf8 Nxg8..and white trades pawns for pieces, coming out on top

1.Bg7 Rg8 2.Bxf6 Bxf6 3.Nd5 Bd8 4.Nxc7 Bxc7 wins the exchange in the puzzle. Kasparov certainly demonstrated who's Boss in the World Championship match. Anand would not remember these routs in fond light...

White has his chance to castle at 05:45. What about b4 (instead of b3xc4)? Let's say black plays his ... Rxe6. White castles long. O-0-0. Now white still has his screen of a, b and c pawns. What's next? Black still has an attack. He can push his a pawn, for example. But white has more wiggle room, methinks. Any ideas?

seems like with a5 will open up the a-file and proceed with the attack
@martinguerre82204 жыл бұрын
@@SurenAghabekyan I'll trade this position, even with an open a-file (after 1. a3 a5xb4 2. a3xb4), for the mess that Anand got himself into.
