@@deyanstoychev6344 this is a good point. Suporters expect good players that perform to show loyalty, players that are not even from the same continent as the club. Then they expect these same players to get a f.... away from the club when they do t perform. Leicester sign players from smaller clubs, it is just natural that these same players want to move on to an even bigger club within a couple of years. That is just how the football pyramid works. My own club Rosenborg sold off by far the best player we had this winter to Benfica (Casper Tengstedt). Now we are really struggling because we have no players that know how a goal look like but I have no hard feelings because he was way, way to good for us and the Norwegian league.

Kasper was a huge part of that Leicester team and him leaving was disastrous. Two seasons in a row Leicester missed out on the Champions League on the last game of the season, this time we've been relegated but it didn't depend on the last game of the season. Not just getting rid of Schmeichel but not replacing him, and they only got in Faes very late in the window once the season had started if I remember rightly, so they didn't replace Fofana until very late too. I can't think of any time a club has sold a first choice keeper and brought the no.2 in that's actually worked. There's a reason Ward was no.2 and had barely played at all for Leicester until that point.

No pressure to leave then all of a sudden the first reporting of the move was that it was done. A key presence in the squad, just suddenly gone, that’s not normal. Kasper being the personality he is and Brendan being how he is, which contributed to his sacking and the team dynamic being what it is now, it’s pretty apparent there was something happening. Same thing with Soyuncu, guy was shut out the squad but as soon as Rodgers was gone he was magically back in the starting eleven and even performing, definitely not a fitness problem.

What cost them long term was not qualifying for the champions league in either 2020 or 2021. They needed that money to then fund player signings and wages as ffp was catching up with them. And then missing out on Europe completely in 2022 meant there was 0 money to bring in new quality so they had to sell to buy. No one wanted tielemans cos of the asking price and the fact that he’s now free this summer.

If they manage to hang on to most of their current squad, they'd have the best squad in the Championship by a freaking mile.

Yeah but no team can keep their best players after a relegation. Leicester were struggling for money anyway this year and now they've lost the Premier league cash. Plus you can't force players to stay if they're getting huge offers from big clubs. The stay in the championship may now be a short one

They shouldn't let Schmeichel left e club....and without replacing him with a top GK!!! Think that was one of e main reason they had let in so many goals...finally got relegated....feel very sad for Leicester...

Their problem was selling Mahrez, Drinkwater, Kanté and Kasper. Not just Kasper !!

I feel the European commitments cause teams like Leicster a problem. A lack of squad depth, along with injuries, managing two games a week catches up. West Ham points tally suggests the same. It will be interesting to see how Brighton fair next season.

I kind of agree you only look at Ipswich town, Middlesbrough, Fulham, Portsmouth, Southampton, Burnley, west ham and leicester city . They all played in Europe and then got relegated or struggled in the league after being in Europe.

Most likely the new management got too comfortable and took things for granted after their loss of owner. Hardly anything was done to keep the team competitive

Why did they let Kasper go in the first place?
@JNFitness2

Brendan forced him out due to him having a bigger influence on the team than him. Kasper didn’t want to leave and may even come back despite us being in the championship

I'm pretty sure Kasper was the one who wanted to leave, however it's still the Leicester owner's fault for not signing another keeper.

@@russellward4624 cos they had no money to do so. The lack of no champions league money and failing to qualify for Europe meant they didn’t have the funds to go out and bring in quality players that would be as good as players that would be leaving. They don’t have the income streams the top 7 clubs have where they can still spend mega money on players

Looking back, How do you expect to compete in the Premier League with the likes of Ward, Iversen, Amartey, Perez, Albrighton Bertrand and Vestegaard. A serious club in Europe would not have any of those players on their team. Also, the transfers they made in this season, all where Deadline Day signings.

hard discussion but ever since the passing of the owner and the soon after takeover by his son, the club has been going on a downward trajectory. poor signing and management lead to this :(

I find it bizzare how people are talking about players moving on? Didnt those same players get them relegated? Elite players drag teams through the battles. Every single one of those players doesnt deserve a new contract in a premier league club at all.

I question if Everton get rid of the manager they have now if they will get anyone who will take that job unless they pay unholy amounts of money to them. Sad really kind of like Spurs might have trouble getting type of names they have been getting without the big bucks.
