You have a good point, but there's one line that throws a wrench into your theory. When Amity asks, "Are you the inner Willow?" she says "I was." Not yes, not no, "I WAS." She goes on to explain that Amity's fire burned away everything except anger, meaning that she was still the inner Willow, just changed by anger. If she wasn't truly the inner Willow, she would've said something else, or made some reference to being manifested. On the other hand, I think that the tiny Willow might've been an emotional manifestation of hope.

Similarly, the foundation of a burnt down house is not a house. Not anymore. A new inner willow was created, through Willows forgiveness, guided by the more grounded skepticism of her anger (which she uses to fuel her growth, by seeking to prove everyone wrong about the cruel things they say) The older Willow is anger... But tempered by forgiveness.

I do agree it probably is the Palisman souls bc Belos even said “he’s been trying to catch it” and bc of how it’s presented in the show I think I being the Palisman’s soul is more accurate. We’ve also seen him have zero guilt abt killing witches. The only maybe little bit of guilt he could have is killing his brother but he said “it hurts every time he chooses to betray me” I think that moment is more hurt from feeling betrayed than feeling guilty bc if he felt guilty he likely would have more hesitation to killing the Grim Walkers and it doesn’t seem like he does

I presume if flapjack would have entered belos's mindscape he would have been eaten by belos since that's how all the others got there. So, since the crew can't unceremoniously kill him off the only real option was to leave him outside.

Yeah normally Palisman can't enter the mindscape, but I think subsuming a palisman into your being through weird curse magic probably represents an exception.

Kind of odd that Eda said there couldn't be two inner selves when she shares her mindscape with a second being, the Owl Beast. The Palisman amalgam fits a similar role: a seperate mind inside the host mind. An added bonus: Belos says the line "Can't reason with crazy," a line that Luz said during season one. This is one of many elements that point to Belos as an evil inversion of Luz: human strangers to the isle with very different reactions to the magical world, as well as differences in how they interact with people and grow stronger as human witches.

I think that her saying there can't be two inner selves still kind of holds. The owl and Eda are their own beings so they can both occupy Eda's mind at once. As for the whole Willow's mind, I think it's one of those things where you can visit your past self through memories but you are not that person/at that moment anymore so it doesn't count. Also "Angry Willow" was just that, her anger was such a strong emotion that it manifested itself, it would be weird it took anyone but Willow's form given it was her mind after all.

THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT THAT ONE PORTRAIT OF PHILIP BEING BY HIMSELF ON THE BOILING ISLES BECAUSE I SAW THAT TOO!! SO IT GOT ME THINKING THAT THE BROTHER GOT "TEMPTED" TO GO WITH THE WITCH BUT PHILIP WAS EITHER TOO YOUNG OR TOO SCARED AT THE TIME TO FOLLOW (because his brother in the portrait with the magic fire hand looks close to Hunter's age currently and Philip has gotta be at least 5-6 younger than his brother, so bro is like 16-18 while Philip is 10-12 at that moment). SO THIS ALSO PLAYS INTO YESTERDAY'S LIE WHEN WE LEARN ABOUT THE BROTHERS AND HOW THEY BOTH DISAPPEARED. Only they didn't disappear together, one brother disappeared first and then the other followed after. During the time when the brother was gone, I think Philip BECAME a witch hunter to get his brother back (because being a witch hunter WAS an occupation in both Europe and in the Colonies). And OH BOY IT WOULD EXPLAIN A LOT OF HOW HE IS SO GOOD AT MANIPULATION AND MIND GAMES. Not only did witch hunters physically torture their victims into (false) confessions, but they also did a WHOLE LOT OF COERCSION/GASLIGHTING and tricking their victims into saying something. So yeah, in Philip's mind he came to the Boiling Isles and he was going to save his brother from the witches and also going to destroy the witches to keep humanity safe and make sure that they never "took" someone's loved one again. BUT THEN... yeah, we see that his brother has rejected his Puritan upbringing and has become open-minded and has also fallen in love with a witch and having a kid with her too. AND WE ALL SAW HOW PHILIP HANDLED THAT POORLY YIKES.

I believe that him and his brother entered the isles at the same time however his brother soon found out about Phillip's ill intentions and tried his best to stray him away from this negative path but failed and had to part ways with his brother and that's the first time in Phillip's when he was away from his brother

YES!! *and* i have a theory that, well, lots of people have talked of, that the wife of Caleb (a.k.a. big bro Wittebane) is a Clawthorne, and actually, it would make sense, seeing as the witch had to have been in the human realm to meet Caleb, which meant she had to have had a means of getting there. And the only known way currently of getting to the human realm from the demon realm is the door Eda had before it broke. And it looks like nobody else HAS gone to the human realm besides Eda because there would be way more human items in the isles and more humans and human realm stuff, so it would make perfect sense that the wife of Caleb had to have been a Clawthorne and the door would have been passed down from generation to generation, and why most Palismen are actually human realm creatures, such as a cardinal or a house cat or a huge hawk, because barely any of those actually exist in the demon realm. So that could mean Caleb taught his wife of the animals or the wife knew already and passed it down from generation to generation, resulting in almost all palismen being human realm creatures!!!

Not only that but you can see how much his brother looks like Hunter, or wrather, how much Hunter looks like his brother. Hence the quote "you look the most like him". So, it is possible he is attempting to "recreate" his brother. Going back to "Hunter" being a title, his real name could be that of his brother, the past Golden Guards being failed attempts or unwanted results.

I was right, Belos cut his ears into a pointed shape so he'd look like a witch. I never noticed the picture of him cutting his ears but I had this theory since the episode came out. which also happened to be the day I got into the show. I think Hunter’s hand starts shaking, because when they are in the *real* memories, we can look back on episodes where Belos’ hands start twitching or his body will lash out - due to palismen being killed. Though the crack on flapjack can also be a trauma for Hunter (Philip’s brother’s *real* palisman/flapjack’s first owner since he was abandoned). Also, this isn’t the first time Luz has used to safety hover glyph, because she uses it in “Reaching Out”

A couple of days ago, I was rewatching the owl house. Remember when Eda was about to get petrified? The news channel said there hadn't been a petrification for 30 years. What if the last petrification was the golden guard that got petrified? Originally, I didn't know about the petrified golden guard, and assumed it was Belos trying to kill off his brothers descendants, because I believe the clawthornes might be descended from Philip's brother. Seeing this video made me remember that theory that I came up with just a few days ago. And if the previous Golden Guard was Darius' mentor, that tineframe would be when Darius was about 10, since Eda and Raine went to Hexside with him and if I'm correct, are in their mid-late 30s, referencing a few details like edas mug that says "30 and flirty" from season 1. We don't know exactly how long she's had that cup, and it'd probably be difficult to find a cup that said "37 and flirty", so she could be anywhere in her 30s. 30 seems to be a number that keeps being repeated in this show, I wonder if anything else big besides the petrification happened 30 years ago. So assuming their ages are at least close, because Darius could also be older than Eda and Raine, Darius, could've watched his mentor get PETRIFIED while he was a little kid. We've seen the emperors coven take recruits while they are young, and we don't know what the age range for those recruits are specifically. If Darius seemed to young, they could've possibly let him continue his education at Hexside for a while. Watching Hunter become appointed as the new golden guard would be terrifying for him if he watched his mentor get killed.

0:36 I think that is not really a valid argument that Eda is the most powerful witch on the boiling iles. Eda was transfering Luz and Amity to Willows mind when she was right next to them. The spell circle was probably used to transfer from long distance. Still Eda didn't need a potion to transfer them but that can be part of the long distance transfer. I think the spell circle is needed for long transfer similarly to when Philip used it to travel to head of Titan. Eda is still the most powerful witch

I think it was Belos who cast this curse. How could a schoolgirl make such strong magic that even experienced adult magicians could not undo? Belos is a manipulator. He could have planted instructions for casting a curse for Lilith. It could be because of revenge or the goal was to gain influence over the Clawthornes. Belos knows how Eda's curse works. He "predicts" that Eda will lose her magic. how did he know that? That's why I think Belos did it.

The episode's name is spelled as Hollow Mind and not Hallow Mind, I think this is a reference to the game Hollow Knight because some parts of Belos' backstory mirror certain events in Hollow Knight's lore and inner Belos' design is super similar to Hollow Knight's main character

@@gaiapsyche Some similarities I've seen are - Travelling into someone's mind is a huge plot point - The king/emperor appears out of nowhere and everyone quickly leaves their old lives (Their belief in different gods in Hollow Knight and wild magic in Hollow Mind) behind to follow this person's sayings - The king/emperor creates a lot of children for a purpose and kills the ones he finds useless, one of the children finds out about this and is deeply affected by it (shown by the Void Heart charm in Hollow Knight) - And again, both feature a character who wields a sort of sword and wear a mask with horns and two circular black eyes

Another thing I noticed is that hunter was sent to capture and kill the selkidomus because it was an ingredient for grimwalkers but that’s not the only time the 18th grimwalker is hinted at! In the episode where Gus joins a group of glandus students to get the galdorstones from the illusionist graveyard Bria says “we can sell the small ones to the emperors coven and keep the rest for ourselves” a galdorstone was also something needed to create a grim walker (how much you wanna bet this line was meant entirely for foreshadowing) so if Bria ever did sell belos the stones it would have brought him one step closer to creating a new grim walker! It was also mentioned in that episode that Gus and Matt would help build up the defenses for the graveyard but I don’t think they released just how much they needed to do that with hunter now leaving the emperor’s coven

I figured Raine, Darius and Eberwolf needed to resort to wild magic because they all have Coven sigils, limiting their magic to only one track. The mindscape spell probably either needs several magic tracks to work or just doesn't work with bardic, abomination and beastkeeping magic alone

4:57 I will never forgive Disney for cutting the 3rd season, cuz I would’ve loved to see a full episode instead of just this portraits. We could’ve seen Eveline and Caleb’s blossoming love. We could’ve seen Flapjack’s creation, perhaps how he got his scar. We could’ve seen the first time Philip used the glyphs on his right arm and the side effects from it, the first time he consumed Palismen souls and how his addiction to them started, and this scene of Caleb still embracing him despite it all.

When I saw Belos' face and his ears, I was wondering why they are smaller than other witches ears. Then it was said that he is Phillip, a human and I wondered why he didn't have round ears. Now it all makes sense, he cut his ears to make them look like witch ears. Since human have smaller ears than witches, it makes sense that his ears can't really be cut into the witch shape. I just love the details they put into this backround story!
