Love the little detail of Papyrus having a little less HP from breaking the glass of the window. Sort of acts as a parallel to how in neutral, if you don’t save Monster Kid, Undyne jumps to save them, and in her normal battle she has less HP. Also love fantastic work on all this! Hyped to see the final product, especially since it’ll be playable!

Fun fact: When undyne jumps to save monster kid and then you battle her, Toby wanted undyne to have cracked armor as well as slightly lowered HP. He forgot about the cracked armor and only added the other.

Okay I have no word to describe how much I'm impressed. You guys manage to make Papyrus fight intense and it still feels like "yeah this is definitely Papyrus's attack". The Goofy movements of Papyrus and his bone, The cunning strategy behind some attack and unpredictability of this one goof ball can be seen. His way of speaking is perfectly incredible, Even the last sentence is accurate (Papyrus doesn't hate pun, he just "act" that he doesn't like the fact that Sans barely put an effort into his joke)

What I'm really amazed by is how Papyrus acts and attacks in this version. He still has the same funny and kind persona, but he still considers the misdeeds of the human. Therefore, he's got lots of stronger attacks up his sleeves. He even learned dodging somehow. Maybe he learned from Undyne or Sans ahead of time, before they were possibly killed. And Papyrus will stop at nothing to make sure he captures you. He doesn't want to kill you. Nonetheless, he must damage you enough to the point where you're considered helpless and weak. And compared to the first time you fight him (canon game), it's a lot easier to be damaged. Papyrus really has been training a lot for this, hasn't he?

Disbelief holds a special place in my heart and was one of my first aus, Papyrus-belief takes what disbelief had and actually makes in full character with papyrus's goofier traits. I love the googly he is shown with through most of the battle and his animations feel very alive, doing his poses and jumping over attacks and that green spaghetti looks good. im a bit late to the party but i cannot stress enough how much this interpretation Understands papyrus’ character. an issue ive held with a lot of papyrus geno fights is that they commonly seem to forget that in most situations no matter how awful, papyrus always forgives you, no matter how undeserved it is, because hes just not that kind of person. the way you choreographed this fight also takes into account that papyrus has never gone into a fight with the intention to kill you. the way his fighting is portrayed here almost reminds me of the way we fight in pacifist, not with an end goal to kill, but to endure and tire you out. this fight captures the charm of both his in-game personality along with the battle that comes with it, i really hope to see more of this project, it has a lot of potential. :3 keep up the good work!

Ok, this animation went hard, and it's an old one too! Considering it's all been remade in the game up til the end (and possibly further) this still holds up amazingly! There is so much to comment on. First: it’s really sad that Papyrus is talking about how everyone will love him for capturing you, when you’ve already killed everyone that could be happy about it Second: finally I get to see exactly my head cannon of Papyrus if he could dodge. sans gets tiered, but Papyrus, he’ll jump 10 feet in the air to dodge one attack, then immediately start talks without breaking a sweat. I love how absolutely expressive he is with all the little idle animations and movements he makes, and all his different dodging animations! This is just so damn good and incredibly in-character. Also the fact that he finally gets to use his SPECIAL ATTACK is so awesome

God, this is amazing! These beautiful sprites, actions, phrases, attacks are the perfect Papyrus. The way it should be. At one time, I fell in love with disbelief just because of the Papyrus interpretation there, but here! It's a great job, man, I'm looking forward to it, the leitmotif of "the battle against the true hero" fits perfectly. I've been dreaming for a long time people will add it in the latest bossfights in their fan-games. Because this is the last fight, the decisive one, where the monster fights with all his might, but not for himself - for everyone else - as did Undine, as Mettaton did. Just have no word how glad i am to see this!

I don't think there is a way to make this any better. You brought this to it's peak and, if im being honest, I think this might start changing the Undertale community. Cant wait for it to be finished, because this is the best fangame to ever come out!

this feels very accurate to how a fight with papyrus would've been. the last line as well i love because people think papyrus hates pun when he really just hates sans slacking off and the times he uses it. also im pretty sure papyrus tells more puns than sans in undertale.

I can't describe how much I love this version of Papyrus Fanon kinda ended up warpping him into an over confident moron who'll sob over anything that doesnt go his way, while still being good natured This battle really shows what The Great Papyrus can do. He's confident but he has the strength to actually back it up, he's still silly but he's not stupid. He's a bit naive but he knows that he won't get though to you without putting up a decent fight. And he's smart enough to know he probably can't take one of your attacks. It's just great to see. I love it

I love how canon this seems. Papyrus seems to know how much damage you'll do, so he dodges. Maybe that's his ability, like how Sans can see your LV, he can see your Damage.

Pretty sure sans just kinda “checks” the human as i believe monsters can: fight (use magic atacks) act (talk check dodge etc) and spare too so i dont think sans just has the ability to see the LV and its just a check

This is all amazing. The animation (especially this), sound design, dialogue, how in character Papyrus is, the fact that he dodges like Sans and shows that yeah, he was trained by Undyne so he'd be pretty badass in a real fight.

This is absolutely one of greatest (haha) Undertale projects yet. I extremely enjoyed that Papyrus was written admiringly well. The attacks are meritorious and were supplementary to the animation. Frank my beloved, was perfect. My biggest concern would be a "phase 2", this is because this is labelled "First Half of Phase 1" which implies a phase 2, I assume the next half is just "Frank attacks", till he plumps down like shown in the Underevent showcase (because he either realizes that you've killed more monsters then just Mettaton i.e. Sans and Undyne or he gets tried.) then when he gets slashed everything glitches. I hope that if it does exist it's handled with great care. Now to hope the game isn't cancelled by ten minutes.

I know this is late, and this might be obvious by now, but if you go frame by frame, when Papyrus gets slashed but before everything on screen glitches, you will see some frames containing a white sprite about to appear in front of Papyrus. I have the feeling this sprite is Frank, who's either willing to die to protect Pap for some reason, or (most probably) he was preparing to attack once again but he appeared in front of Papyrus right at the worst moment possible

This... This is what i wanted from the fandom all along, like... I dont like the fact that people focus so much on the genocide route, wich is the by all means the worst one, story and gameplay wise. Altough sometimes... Things like this spark that real undertale feeling, like of course is goofy and overtop... is Papyrus, the great (soon to be) royal guard. Everything is so nicely done and with such an attention to detail that it seems like a remake of undertale sprites, but without the overly edge designs (wich 8 out 10 times are totally unecessary in my opinio) So overwall, great video and project, i hope you get the recognition that you deserve. Also wanted this to have a happy canonical ending but... I know its not... Bs... I mean determination alwats prevails.
