Which is a perfectly fine ending. X-2 is just silly fun at the Gold Saucer. Which I don't have a problem with btw, I actually had more fun with X-2 than X.

One of my biggest complains about this game is that you really need a guide if you want to 100% the game and get the perfect ending. There are so many minor or minuscule things that are easily missable without a guide. To prove that point, something was missed in the opening mission before real Yuna was even revealed which I believe already locks you out of the perfect ending on a single playthrough. There's also another point later in the game where you have to make a choice, and choosing the wrong option also locks you out of the perfect ending on a single playthrough.

55:30 Yeah, you're 100% going to need a non-spoiler guide to get the 100% ending-you can do a whole playthrough and miss one thing, and it won't give you the true ending. My first true ending was after my 3rd attempt even WITH a guide.

FFX battle system = CTB-Calculated Turn Based- infinite time between actions where gameplay is focused on slower methodical game play FFX-2 (and like every other final fantasy) Battle system = ATB - Active Turn Based- Active timer between attacks so you have to make actions as the battle goes on. If you take too long to make actions the battle will progress without you.

I set the game on wait mode also. I like taking my time in combat and planning out what to do. I love the dress sphere system in this game, and I tried to master all of them. @@tuomaspuumalainen3018 It has, in my opinion, the best ATB battle system of any final fantasy to date. Combat mechanics aside, I finished it back in the day because I was a teenager and love the female trio. Retrospectively, the characters are over designed (a signature of Nomura), the character dialogue leaves you wanting and the tonal shift is jarring. At least there weren't retcons or multiple timeline non-sense. Embrace the campy and there's a lot to enjoy in this game, and I think experiencing it through Kasta's energy and enthusiasm is the best way for those who can't.

The combat system in X-2 is so much fun with it's depth. Collecting and experimenting with all the jobs (dresspheres) and figuring out all the garment grid stragies is the game's main strength for sure.

Getting the perfect ending requires 100% completion, which, for most people, is impossible without a guide. I'd recommend just playing the game leisurely for your first playthrough, and if you have time, you can always do the stuff you missed on New Game + (your % completion carries over to NG+). Also, do not skip cutscenes because watching them fully counts toward your % completion.

Real glad you're playing this. It'd divisive for sure. For me it has the most fun version of the ATB combat they ever did.. It's so fluid and stuff happening everywhere, which is so hard to do for turn based combat. Music is stellar too, even without Uematsu. I won't talk about any negatives, but hope you enjoy!

the intro is honestly confusing (in a good way). But I'm dying at how at Kasta's peak of confusion the ability Ecstasy is cast and her reaction "Ecstasy?! Okay I am not ready for this..." 🤣

A couple things! Setting the game to “Wait Mode” will only pause the battle when you are selecting a target or selecting an ability in the menu. If you are just sitting the enemies will still hit you! Wait mode is still super helpful though. For battle speed, it affects both you and the enemies, so keeping it on normal is probably best. For chaining, trigger happy is great! Just queue up Rikki or Paine to attack at the same time as you use trigger happy and they will do way more damage.

Fun fact for anyone who didn't know the final fantasy box covers differ between Europe and America. In the original releases in Europe (I'm from UK) all of the game covers are the classic white background with the logo and title on it. You know, like you see once the OP movie ends) and in the original American covers are images of the characters. So i was used to the UK covers for all the final fantasies being the white background and title all the up until the very first time I saw the American covers on KZbin it blew my mind they were different. 😂
